This should be the face of the New South.I'm proud to say he is from Arkansas. He grew up poor and is now known as the Martha Stewart of the South.I think he's most likely nicer than her.I would hope that the South would be known for people like this and not haters.

I wondered where he is from! He's really popular over here.

He has a section in the Arkansas Farm Bureau magazine.20 years ago you would not have seen that.He has really promoted organic farming. He has gardening and poultry workshops at his farm. You get served lunch and everything. Its only about 21/2 hours from here so maybe I'll go to one some day.My son loves his show and he's a construction worker. He came to my little town and did a segment on a local cafe that serves grass fed buffalo, elk and local organic vegetables.

Sounds like fun, you should go, then start a thread in PPR about your experience :D
Elk? Are there any over there? Ours disappeared long ago and we even have a town named after them. I doubt any are there now :(

The eastern elk is extinct here also.A group of people went out to Colorado and brought back Western Elk.There were doubts they would make it here because of the climate but they did.
They have a small lottery hunt for them.It brings in lots of tourists.Whether this is good is in debate, the elk get in the highway, knock down fences, chase the cows.Since they have fared so well Ark game and fish is spraying herbicide and clearing a bunch of land so they can have more forage.People are fighting the clearing and spraying.I hope they stop it.We also had Buffalo, the river here is named for them.Farmers are starting to raise more of them here, sometimes they get loose on the road. 8O One of the men that brought the elk here is Hillary Jones. He was also a close buddy of Bill Clinton. The Prez even came home for the funeral of Hillary(not joking, that was the dude's name). The whole town and highway was closed off and secret service were everywhere.

In a nutshell, if you don't like the show then simply don't watch it. I don' t watch it only because I have always found it to be silly and boring.

I agree. As a matter of fact, I seldom watch A&E anymore, especially when they dropped all their fine arts programming for reality TV (Though I will admit to watching Dog The Bounty Hunter during it's run, as well as reruns of CSI: Miami, and Crossing Jordan when A&E had the broadcast rights to those shows). The only time I watch A&E now is if I happen to catch CSI: Miami and Criminal Minds while flipping through the channels.

The same thing goes with Bravo. When they dropped fine arts programming for reality TV with a metrosexual bent, I pass them by.

Lately, the only stations I watch with any regularity is MeTV, Retro Television (which I might stop watching if they keep continuing to air those damned Autism Speaks commercials), AntennaTV, Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, TVLand, TNT, USA, BBC America, and the 3 PBS stations Comcast carries (WITF/Harrisburg-Hershey, Maryland Public Television, Maryland Public Television 2 and Maryland Public Television's V Me service).

Walmart sold t-shirts with Shutzenstaffel insignias and dog food that was known to cause kidney failure for months on end. I doubt they're going to get rid of their massive phalanx of Duck Dynasty marketing products anytime soon. It would eliminate half of their inventory overnight.

As for this greasy wizard guy from Duck Dynasty, he has the right to say whatever he wants. But A&E has the right to conduct their business however THEY want, and he's under contract with their network. When you sign on with an employer, your words can have consequences. If I were a news anchor and I put on a Hitler costume and rode a unicycle down main street, do you think I'd have a job the next day?

Not if you're Mel Brooks. Mel has gotten more comedic mileage out of Adolph Schickelgrueber than either Charlie Chaplin, Bugs Bunny, and the Three Stooges combined.

I bet nobody is even going to mention the huge gay communities in New Orleans and Atlanta either. Theirs are bigger than Birmingham's. Everybody that isn't from here thinks that Southern gay folks stay in the closet or get beat up.

That ain't so, and shouldn't be so.

You forgot Houston, also with not only a large LGBT community, but also an openly gay mayor.

I had a boss at one time that said the only thing in Texas were steers and queers. Frankly, I could care less about their sexual orientation unless they try to hit on me. I don't particularly go for the LBGT lifestyle, but that's their problem and not of mine. They're the ones that have to answer to their Maker, not me.

I like his show, seen a few episodes on public tv. He's a good looking guy too but a tad too nelly for my tastes.

The same people call in death threats to A&E ,supporting a man that compare gays to terrorists.Looks like his supporters have more terroristic leanings.I don't think any one called in death threats when Charlie Sheen was pulled from Two and a Half Men.Did SciFi fans make threats when Firefly was cancelled?

I swear people's priorities are so screwy. Women should always have access to birth control and doctors should hand out condoms to all their patients. That's just common sense and good hygiene practices. I wish Jesus were here to start removing the thorns from people's eyes.

Or at least that mouse from the fairy tale to remove them from people's paws. ;-)

And to be honest, if I had a thorn in my eye, I think I'd be pretty preoccupied with that and not give a damn what other people are doing. Or a beam, or a mote, or a dust speck, cause I'm funny about getting something in my eye. I can obsess about that all day long.

I've never seen the show, but I admire anyone who has the courage nowadays, to stand publicly for the truth regardless of consequence. Like it or not, most in the U.S. do not want a secularized leftist nation...but very few speak about it in public, and even fewer of those are given the same media coverage as the relativistic PC crowd.

You don't want a secular country? Whose religion do you want to be in control of things? Yours? How about mine? If religion can be in control of the government, the media, etc, why can't it be mine? Mine's much older than yours.

Our country was founded on religious freedom. We aren't meant to limit the freedom of religion to just the particular sects of people who came here. My religion doesn't say a damn word about gay people. Not one word.

Say what you want, no matter how popular = cool stuff

get fired for that = cool stuff too, but you can probably take it to court to see if it was unfair dismissal

Doesn't seem like there were any wrongs by anyone (unless a judge finds it an unfair dismissal).
