Is is racist to call someone White?

No, but calling them "cracker" most definitely is.

Really? There are plenty of whites who use the word cracker to describe ignorant, bigoted whites, so I hardly think of it as a racist word. But even if it is, I sincerely doubt anyone could make a case that it carries the same hurtful power of the N word.

Uh huh, like there aren't any blacks that continually call other blacks the "N" word. If it were as hurtful as you claim they'd rarely say it so casually.
You can never hope to achieve any feeling of racial equality when you continually stack the deck against one race based on the wrongs of some members of that race generations before. But hell, who are we kidding. The left's goal is not equality but actually perpetual strife.

Admittedly, I should have referred to the N word used as a racial slur, rather than as a term of endearment. There's an obvious difference between a couple black teens jokingly calling each other that word, and a racist using it to denigrate blacks. Context is everything.
And I fail to see how making the N word as a hate word is stacking the deck against whites.

What's racist is refusing to let Whites say it. With all the advantages that they have, they never learned to handle the responsibility of being forbidden to do something. Some whites actually think it's against the law to say n****r. There, I said it, and no one will criticize me for it either.

Depends on your political affiliation here. For me, having conservative leanings, I'd have another TOS in my mailbox for even quoting the N word. Maybe even a double-dog or even a triple-dog final warning.

I don't use the word simply because it's bad manners and offensive, too.

Also carried by soldiers were field peas.
"Several varieties are documented from before the Civil War: Mountain Crowder, considered the finest sort; White Crowder, a middling variety; and Gray Crowder, often referred to as the “poor man’s pea.” Tennessee White crowder and Running Conch are two white heirloom varieties still available today. The Gray Crowder is also being maintained by heirloom collectors. However, the most famous variety from the early half of the nineteenth century was Clay, the cowpea included in the soldiers’ mess by the Confederate Army. This variety is still grown in the South, where it is treated with an enthusiasm verging on devotion."

And that's quite admirable of you, BUT you might say it without even being aware it. There are some epitaphs in common use that use that word.
I've heard my mother, who absolutely abhors the N word, use it once in referring to Brazil nuts as "ni66er toes" and once accusing a cousin of mine of acting "ni66er rich" for his careless spending. Of course, you know it was great fun for me to call her on it. :D The look of shock when she realized what she'd said was absolutely priceless.
I still taunt her about that. At Christmastime I once asked how come there weren't very many Brazil nuts in the nut bowl. Then I pretended to catch myself and said:"No, I just remembered you don't call them Brazil nuts like the rest of us".
Yes, I also torment people in the real world. No one is spared .

While I've heard the term "n**ger rigged" and "n**ger rich" growing up, I don't think I've heard anyone use them in more recent times. I'm afraid I don't know what Brazil nuts are. The only person I know who regularly uses the N word is an embittered childhood friend who had moved back to the Spokane area after living for years in Arizona after a back injury and a failed relationship.

These are Brazil nuts. They are quite common and I'm sure you've had them in some form. They come in some kinda pod off of the tree but this is how they look when sold.

Those are all terms I learned from my first girlfriend's (black) father, along with referring to things that were beat up or neglected as niggerish, unkempt black children as nigglettes, and dozens more permutations of the word that I don't immediately recall. I have to admit, it's really funny to deploy one of these words in polite white company, especially here in the PNW where they're pretty much unknown amongst the white population.

Explains why I'm ignorant of such words.

Okay, I know what those are. I don't think I've had those in years, though.

I called them those when I was a kid.
