You really want it ALL, don't you? Pretty hypocritical coming from a RED COUNTY resident.
Oh, I forgot. Being in Washington it's not really red, it just looks that way on the map.
Don't bother to respond to it since I won't buy whatever it is.

Spokane and the greater Spokane area are in fact baby blue.

It is not uncommon for rural areas to be red and urban areas to be blue in the same county or state.

I'd think you'd settle for nothing less than navy blue. I believe baby blue is only light blue.

That's the case here in the east side of Washington state. Whilst the west side is stereotypically liberal, even if their rural areas are actually much more conservative in real life.

Move to Massachusetts, then you have room to brag about living in a blue state.

No, Washington is just fine. Here, even the conservatives smoke pot, and have no problem with gay marriage.

Voter suppression revisited.

voter suppression is real. It is a tactic of a party with no integrity who knows they are losing their demographic base. No more white man power, so they cheat to steal what they cannot win honestly.

So you're saying that the Republican Party (what you call the troll party) has conspired to keep non-whites from voting with this "voter suppression" thingy?
I think you and Kraichgauer must have been separated at birth.

In Ohio, their "anti-fraud" measures include reducing the number of hours the polls are open, reducing the number of early voting days, pushing forward the cut-off for registering to vote before the election, and limitations on an organizations ability to provide mass transportation to/from the polls. Ohio had the longest lines and longest wait times in Cleveland, where nearly 90% of the voters are Democrats and the local churches (which count as organizations subject to limitations) provide transportation for voters.

If you can realistically explain to me how any of this BS reduces voter fraud (which is not even prevalent enough to even be said to exist from a statistical standpoint) I will buy you a cookie.

The procedure here in Texas is that if one doesn't have a driver's licence or Identification card, one can get an Election Identification Certificate (for free) if they have a birth certificate, voter's registration, and another form of ID (SS Card, school records, etc)

And they can use a Texas concealed handgun license as a primary form of ID when it comes time to cast their vote. Which obviously reduces voter fraud, right?

There's nothing inherently racist about everyone having to show an ID proving legal citizenship to vote.

True, in principle, but the way most of the new voter ID laws are structured, they negatively impact those in large predominantly Democrat leaning urban areas more than anyone else. It is a matter of using principle to justify a lack thereof.

Before you hold these people up to some golden pedestal status, you may want to study their histories a little better. 4 out of those 6 owned slaves when they died.

I just feel that some measures should be in place to curb whatever voter fraud there is. I also think that only property owners should be able to vote. I also think that in order to obtain a voter ID card there should be some national standard of testing to verify each voter has the intelligence to cast a vote that is going to impact everyone else's future.
Gee, where have I seen someone want legislation based on what they feel and think?
Hmmmm......... :chin:

Here's a cookie for you, too:

If only property owners can vote, just how many military veterans would be disenfranchised? And just who would represent my interests if I can't vote, being that I'm not a property owner?
And regarding having to take an intelligence test in order to vote, just how much of the Republican party's base of Bible Belt white fundamentalist voters would qualify? And as you know full well that this question is rhetorical, I think we both know the numbers would be small.

Chill!
I'm using sonofghandi's rationale (lack of it) for the gun control he feels we should have in this argument.
It should be obvious.
I'm about done with both of these topics.
