HEY! Uri Geller is being played by "Dr. House"!

Yes..the cracks in the Geller facade began to show in the late 80s.

My dad would get professional photography magazines back then. Rarely did the magazines report anything to with the paranormal, but one did have an article about Geller. A photographer partnered with Geller on an experiment to see if Geller could project an image onto film with just his mind.

Geller was asked to pick up a camera loaded with film and to hold it against his head and concentrate on it.

The experiment resulted in an actual picture. An eerie picture of a blurry humanlike figure (who resembled Geller)but with a big black sphere like object covering much of the picture. The photographer was stunned. But when he showed the picture to other major photographers (without telling them the origin of picture), and just asking them "what do you think of this picture?" they all reacted by saying "that wouldve been a good picture if the person hadnt blocked it with the camera cover slip".

The upshot is that the guy who did the experiment realized that the big black round thing was just the camera's own cover slip, and that Geller had simply removed the cover slip off of the camera and quickly snapped a pic while the author was out of the room for a second. No special powers involved.

Angry that he had been had...he concluded the article with "Hey Ur! Your coverslip is showing."

This is why, when James Randi was offering his Million-Dollar Challenge, people claiming to have psychic abilities were required to demonstrate their alleged skills in front of a panel of experts, composed of scientists, reporters, and stage magicians.

No one ever successfully demonstrated their claims, and no one ever claimed the million-dollar prize.

It was claimed by Seth Raphael but only as an April Fools that Randi was in on.

He left him unattended and still considered the experiment valid? If so he acted like an idiot.

If you watch the TV detective show "The mentalist" it involves something called advanced pre-cognition. In other words the person has the ability to take environmental cues and subconsciously accurately anticipate future events based on appropriate precedences or cues. Precognition is thought to have evolved on the African plains when our ancestors were hunted as prey and needed to predict danger before it happened.

A good example of precog is John Edwards (TV personality who supposedly talks to the dead) who makes use of simple questions/responses to come to apparently amazing insight into a deceased person.

The author just stepped out for a second. And then afterward figured "that must have been when Geller did it".

Also he recreated the Geller photograph (that was another part of the article. Made similar pics with the authors own face partially blocked by a fuzzy black circle.

I don't personally believe I am a psychic, although I do seem to have an unnaturally good ability to read into the future. I don't know what is going on in people's minds at any given time, but reading what they say in written text - I can decipher a distinct meaning of the emotions that lay behind the words, somehow. I don't know how, it comes naturally.

So yes, in short, some other people think I am a psychic - I do not.

As long as your not doing it on a Stage for entertainment ....... :D .Then it makes sense and
i could see this as a real thing . but stage acts . i really got to think that they are being very insincere . If not just outright frauds . For me its sort of a automatic/ unconcious thing.
I like to think, that i used it to make at least one good stock pick almost a year ago . My father did the stock market . So i tried to learn . But never had enough money to really do much. But made one good choice. :D Was very proud of that experience . Good place to lose money too. :(
Quite a bit of learning to do that and had help .

Stage performances differ from parlour tricks only by skill of the performer and size of the audience.

When I first started as a store-front "psychic", I was amazed at how easy it was to fool people into believing I had supernatural abilities.  Even better, the more I denied having such abilities, the more the
suckers  clients were convinced I had them!
