We don't like Trump much here either, on Africa's southern tip! My friend says he hasn't much chance to get in. Let's hope he's right, as winning the Presidency would inflate his ego so much that he might zoom off into the stratosphere like a great big orange helium blimp full of hot air!

he's so full of bovine ordure that it will counteract the ascension.

Does he actually believe the things he says, or does he simply ad lib stuff which sounds populist and controversial?

he recently said words to the effect, "all attention is good attention." he shoots from the lip with a soupçon of sense, just enough to be plausible to his supporters and get the up-front attention of everybody else.

There's danger in that kind of statement 'cos a murderer may kill in order to get attention and say something similar, as has happened numerous times!

Being that he had had his people listen for hours to right wing talk radio in order to tap into his constituency, I have to think he probably doesn't - - for the time being. Then again, it's suspected by some that the likes of Hitler and Mussolini originally probably didn't buy the lunacy they were spewing, but in time, they had played the role of fascist dictators for so long that they fell for their own line of bullsh*t.

I get the impression that Trump does not care one bit what people think of what he says. He is a boorish lout. That is why I am going to vote for him. No more voting for the lesser of evils. I am going to follow the way of C'thulu and vote for the greater of evils.

Back in 1963 the LBJ supporters all said that if one votes for Goldwater the U. S. would be tied up in a land war in Asia. Well, I voted for Goldwater and sure enough.......

A vote for Hillary is a Third term for Bill.

I hope you're right, the consequences of The Rump getting in there with all the branches of gov't in his vest pocket are too horrible and permanent, to contemplate.

Not at all. It will be a Darwinian Challenge to see if the Republic is fit to survive...

Darwinian would be letting the disabled die, though I suppose the subject in question would love that. Still, was Sparta some ideal model?

As for Sparta - obviously not. They chose which of their children were worthy to live, instilling in them collectively a hard heartedness which is reminiscent of the Nazis. That, and with the disposal of so called unfit children, one has to consider how many of might have contributed to their culture might have been lost. After all, Sparta was pretty much a one dimensional society of physically fit soldiers, capable of great military achievements, but little else. They certainly didn't exceed in the arts or philosophy, or commerce, as did their hated rivals, the Athenians.

it sounds to me that Sparta's "philosophy" was the philosophy of the cancer cell.

I hope Trump becomes president. No matter who becomes president, the US is screwed. However Trump thinks most Americans are morons and have openly said it before. That makes him at least more honest than Hillary or Johnson.
