The Truth AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH: 2016 Election

The Left strikes again!
After seeing this articles title I, as a gun owner, wondered why the Republicans would want guns at the Republican Convention and thought that would be asking for trouble especially if a riot started.
Then I find out it's a Leftist that is behind the whole thing. Was/is his purpose to get violence started and people get shot at the Republican Convention? WTH! Another act of playing dirty. What is wrong with these people?!

Oh, you want to allow guns everywhere, except where you want to be. 'Cause that's dangerous. HYPOCRITES!

You support that!?
I think Germany already tried that to a different group in the thirties. It wasn't pleasant from my reading of history.
I believe I also posted in this thread somewhere (might be in another one) what Paris did after their terrorist attacks - they raided all of their mosques and found a load of crap - more arsenal material than they confiscate over a year.
If you have a problem, you need to find the source and nip it in the bud otherwise it will get way out of hand.
This will lead to far more mistrust and bigotry towards Muslims based on the actions of a radical few. It is fundamentally immoral to stigmatize Muslims that way when the vast majority are peaceful and innocent. There are over a billion Muslims in this world and probably less than a 200,000 terrorists who claim to be Muslims. It, to me, is exactly like labeling all Christians pedophiles because of their particular history in this matter. Or to say all Christians support lynching because some crazy white supremacists do.
In fact stigmatizing Islam in this way only makes it easier for these radical groups to spread the idea that America is at war with Islam and recruit more terrorists.
I don't want to see a kristallnacht like event happen here.

No it wasn't to start violence. It was to show that Republican politicians only support banning "gun free zones" when they are not in them.
I didn't sign the petition but I don't see that as dirty politics.
I DISAGREE.
From the article:
“I am passionate about gun control and discouraging gun violence,” Mr. Ryan told the Observer.
Mr. Ryan is, in fact, a Hillary supporter.
The petition takes aim at the idea that “gun free zones” increase safety, saying “The NRA, our leading defender of gun rights, has also correctly pointed out that “gun free zones… tell every insane killer in America… (the) safest place to inflict maximum mayhem with minimum risk.” It even raises the prospect of an “ISIS terrorist attack on the arena during the convention: in which those in the arena “will be sitting ducks, utterly helpless against evil-doers.”
To me, this is putting in people's minds that there could be violence at the convention and bringing their guns may not be a bad idea. That's what I would have thought. He had an agenda and I believe it was to start violence at the Republican Convention.

I believe that guns should be allowed everywhere, but this guy had a particular agenda that he was trying to carry out. I would definitely not go to any convention or rally after seeing what violence has broken out during them. Having a bunch of guns where there could very well be a riot is asking for trouble - if it was all just Republicans that were going to be at the convention, then I wouldn't mind guns being there, but not with the way the Left has been acting at these rally's. The Left + guns = BIG PROBLEMS.

Nurseangela,
What you just posted supports my point. His first sentence explains that he is against violence. If you took from that petition that it would be a good idea to bring a gun. That says more about you than it does the person who made the petition.
Also the article is clearly biased. It is unnecessarily aligning itself with The NRA and it is conflating the opinion of the NRA as a fact.

So you think guns should be everywhere except where democrats are? That's an odd position. It also doesn't make a bit of sense.

At a Republican convention? NO.

He may have had a political agenda, but point made. Republican hypocrites only want other people to suffer from gun violence. At their own convention, they suddenly become gun control advocates. Hillarious!
It was definitely a stunt from a person on the left. I'm totally fine with this type of politics. Conservatives use this kind of tactic all the time, it can be annoying but I see nothing wrong with it.

Dude, the guy is passionate about gun control and gun violence, but he's pushing to get guns at a convention? Why? And why the Republican Convention?

Ok, if you have time, I would appreciate seeing an example or two where the Right plays dirty like this guy did. It keeps being brought up that the Left is not starting violence at Trump's rally's and I keep bringing up examples of how they are and now this guy with the Republican Convention. Where is it that the Right is pulling these kinds of tricks?

He isn't seriously pushing for guns to be there. He was just making a point. His statements make that very clear.
It's the same as when a lawmaker proposes mandatory prostate exams for any man requesting Viagra in response to forced ultrasounds or unnecessary restrictions on female contraceptives. They don't actually plan on passing that legislation they just want to point out the absurdity of other proposals.
Time for homework and charging everything up - bad storms expected this evening in Kansas.
And that's the TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH - for now.
Oh, I almost forgot - GO TRUMP! GO TRUMP! GO TRUMP! ![]()

They want mandatory prostate exams for Viagra users?

The first example is truly a dirty trick.
The second is misleading but not much worse than negative tv ads. And both sides do this.
