You know, those cheeky indigenous peoples of the Americas, when Europeans conquered them, so unfairly appropriated their conquerors' languages so now almost the whole continent is made up of three big blocks, speaking English, Spanish and Portuguese, within which everyone can understand one another. This has to be stopped! How dare anyone share a language with anyone born a hundred kilometres away?

Damn right. I'm so glad that minor altercations like the one shown in the video are the worst form of racial animosity that white people ever have to suffer at the hands of non-whites. It's so comforting to me to know that the thousands of rapes and murders of whites by non-whites throughout the West every year have nothing to do with 'hate' or anything.

Who said this video is the worst form of racial animosity what white people ever have to suffer at the hands of non-whites? Also racial animosity non-whites have suffered does not make what that woman in the video did appropriate. She was still saying because of his race he can't have the hairstyle he has which is kinda screwed up...who is she to tell people what they can and cant do because of the color of their skin?

Ignoring any racial transgressions towards whites on account of 'but worse has happened to the minorities' is part of the problem that encourages racial tension.

Newsflash: I was being sarcastic, which should have been blindingly obvious if you'd read my short post in its entirety. I know this is a website for autists, but it shouldn't have been that complicated.

My point was that one of the main reasons people like GGPViper get away with their smug clichés is that 'conservative' media outlets prefer to focus on minor non-white vs white altercations like the one in the video (where the non-white lectures the white with a load of marxised clichés - oh how illogical it all it moans the conservative) than the masses of actual violent racial attacks by non-whites against whites week after week (where the non-white doesn't bother explaining their motivations to a nearby camera). The 'liberal' media of course ignores both kinds of incident.

Skysaw according to liberals (the regressive left to be more accurate), white people cannot be subject to racism, just like there cannot be sexism towards men.

We are going backwards in society rather than forwards. Just look at my country, Trudeau appointing half of his cabinet just because they happen to be women instead of on merit. I'm a believer in meritocracy, which is a "micro-aggression", another made up word by these social justice cretins

What would GGPViper have to say to this I wonder? 'First world problems' perhaps? Tee hee!

Conservatives will look at this story and moan that it is 'stupid'. And yet we keep seeing this sort of crap over and over. What are those smart conservatives going to do to stop it?

There's no such thing. It's just a**holes taking rare incidents and using them to denigrate liberals. Also, being a women is itself a possible benefit, since only a woman can have a woman's perspective on the issues.

ABSOOoooolootly!! !! :D

The folks in Mexico insensitively "appropriated" the Spanish language from the Conquistadors.

AND..the Spaniards themselves insensitively "appropriated" THEIR language from their own conquerors: the ancient Romans! So that makes the Mexicans double appropriators! Mexicans need to apologize to the Italians right now -in fact they should PAY-for appropriating a language invented in Italy! So should ALL of "Latin" America!

It just gets me so steamed!

Here's a protip: when people on "your side" act stupidly, don't try to play it off or defend them, just throw them overboard, cause when people decide that a group is not credible or ridiculous, they tend to write off everything associated with it, and I see that happening with social justice in the near future, and I doubt you want to go down with them.

I'm playing it off because it isn't any kind of trend, except in the mind of conservative asshats.

No need for name calling. And I agree with Dox, you shouldn't be swift to defend bigotry because it just so happens to be perpetrated by someone who shares your political views.

I have to ask, what do you gain out of doing this, or feeding a hero complex? Is there some sort of point system which people have for social justice, which is then reported back to a mother-brain who adds these points to a high score? To me it just seems like a toxic game of "who can win the internet by being perceived as the most righteous individual"

What there hell is happening in universities these days? It is so disappointing, given that places like San Francisco were so forward thinking at one point.

This doesn't suprise me, in The U.S.A. The court system is pretty messed up. The Family court is all about a inaccurate steorotype of the Steorotypical 'Mom' figure. It is pretty bad.

Wait, this actually happened. The funny thing is if it was a black person doing the same thing to a White person no one would have a problem. Society is Pretty D**n Racist. By Not being "Racist".

IF you think this has anything to do with society in general and not just a few busybodies on twitter, you're a moron.

Those are your busybodies on Twittter, so if anyone is an asshat or a moron here, it's you, as it's your ideals that will go down with this very stupid ship. Go right ahead though and hitch your political fortunes to this loser of a brand, I'll be happy to watch them all sink together.

I thought it was too far a while back (not sure when ir really started) when people were making trouble during Halloween. If people are going to get upset for 'appropriating a culture' during a holiday that its entire purpose is to dress up as someone else from somewhere else or something else (movie, book, TV) then all perspective is lost.

We seem to have lost any common sense towards the matter, even to the point of trying to prevent minorities from re-appropriating culture and names for themselves to gain mastery over the terms used at one point to denegrate.

An Asian band that was barred by the government from registering their band's name, 'The Slants' is just one article.

Rules about Halloween costumes or costume parties in general:

http://www.refinery29.com/2015/10/95646 ... ropriation

How dare a girl who is not Arabic want to be Princes Jasmine.
How dare a boy who is not Arabic want to be Princes Jasmine.
How dare a boy want to be Princes Jasmine.

See how that is a slippery slope?

It's ridiculous. And it is getting worse when people just ignore, or even invent, history to fit their narrative. Young people are angry now about things that happened before they were born. They were not there to see the real situations that made people make certain decisions. They don't seem to be able to appreciate contextual differences in historical periods.

Many things in the past were wrong. But to just sit and dwell on it and make things just worse, well, it ain't moving forward.

Maybe some of those decisions are not appropriate today. But they were the best options or thoughts available at the time (recent history). Many things still need to change. But complaining that someone did not make perfect decisions almost 30 or worse, 60 or more years ago is a fools errand. And, having grown up during those times, I find it hilarious about some of the things these people are getting upset about these days.

And the posters who pointed to a lot of this being caused by white academics is spot on. What's worse is that these academics are really doing their student bodies a great disservice because of the blatant hypocrisy and lack of demonstrated critical thinking.

But, what do you expect from a group of people who have mastered that special treat, "The 'Non-Apology-Apology'". You know where it's one BS sentence, "I'm sorry you felt this way, but....."

It's not only blaming the people that are offended, and then adds the 'but.' There is always a 'but'. And it is usually followed by at least 1 or more paragraphs of why they were correct anyway.

Critical thinking is offensive.

Nope. Just like I don't characterize the right using the actions of the Westboro Baptists.
