One possible alternate focus of southern pride could be the Anti-Confederate resistance in the south, such as Newton Knight, a Confederate army deserter who carried on guerrilla warfare against the Rebel cause in the heart of Dixie.
Sherman in fact made mention of Knight and his fighters, calling them Southern Yankees. After the war, Knight took part in Reconstruction, and even married a black lady who had been part of his guerilla fighting force. His descendants still live in Mississippi. I think he'd make a marvelous replacement for Robert E. Lee.

Sounds like the values a true American should hold. He must have been very brave to go against the evil bulwark of confederacy and cross color lines to boot. But I doubt the "southern sons" would ever consider him anything other than a traitor.

The picture above is made during BLM demonstration.
Much more protection than during the riots from the extremists a few days ago.
Its a wider culture problem than only the racist Trump.
This kind of culture problem is universal on the planet.

But so did Trump. And Trump put way more into those cages, specifically to discourage immigration by splitting up families.
Worse, owing to a lack of proper documentation several hundred of those kids stand little to no chance of being reunited with their families. No-one knows who they are, and they're too young to say.
This is due to Trump's savage, racist policies. Not Biden, not Obama.

This isn't counting that many Trump supporters also want theocracy, so you can add sexist, anti-LGBT and bigoted toward non-Christians.

Of course both candidates are racist. Trump is inarguably more racist. Full stop.

For all these arguments that both sides (tm) are equally racist, there's only one side that consistently has the support of the Klan and Neo-Nazis. They dropped the Democrats like a bad habit after the 60s and we're embraced with open arms by the GOP. To these people, Trump is "our guy".

The vast majority of "racist" groups that support the Democrats only have grievances against whites because of centuries of white domination of non-whites and their half-hearted attempts at dismantling that domination. The genuinely bigoted ones like Farrakhan are a tiny, vocal outlier.

Trump also wanted the army to go in and shoot BLM protestors

The right has been pushing this narrative and its a false flag.

Biden at best can be accused of casual racism and honestly if he's racist then isn't every white person in America a racist?

The reason 74 million voted for Trump is because he's an explicit racist and they feel emboldened by Trump to say what they want. My best guess is that superficial/shallow reason that Trump isn't afraid to shoot his mouth off is what they admire about him.

Trump's economic policies or his claims to making America great again are "bollocks" as a valid reason for voting for him.

In 2016, they voted for him for one simple reason: His opponent was a woman.

Conservatives believe that there only two acceptable occupations for women: secretary and housewife. And since Hillary Clinton wasn't the obedient Stepford wife they wanted her to be, they felt her life should be ruined.

Yeah theres that too. But in 2016 his MAGA followers listened to many months of Trump shooting his mouth off saying obnoxious, outrageous and racist things. It was the only reason the MAGAs preferred him to other republican leaders so its not just about Hillary.

You ,mean Diogenes can finally stop walking the earth with his infernal lantern

I am sure there are some well meaning politicians in the democratic side of politics. As for the GOP, Mike Pence finally did something decent during the insurrection.

I'm guessing "other people" means not me

Perhaps you could elaborate on what you mean by your question?
