Also, a lot of people didn't want to risk going in person and catching/spreading COVID.

It never bothered Trump, he encouraged his idiot followers to go out and catch the virus.

Most of his followers didn’t believe in the virus ,so weren’t deterred from voting.

Which goes to show just how much Mr. Trump really cares about his loyal followers.

It doesn't feel as republicans know that all people are the same. I imagine that if you had the ability to switch lives; take Rand Paul for example. He was born in a nuturing, wealthy environment; if you could place him in an environment that was a single parent, poor and non nurturing; it has seemed that he has convinced himself that he would turn out the same way as he is now, which is BS. It's as if republicans are saying "fxxk you" I have my piece of the pie. Some how they are blaming the child because he was not born in a nuturing environment.

3 things seem to motivate them -
*person gain/aggrandizement at all costs
*scapegoating the poor
*finding a superior moral justification for selfishness to fool the little people.

Yep. Stupid.

Too bad vaccination rates didn't skyrocket when it was revealed that trump was vaccinated.

Then you've got people like Lauren Boebert, who had a childhood of poverty, who thinks that "handouts" need to be abolished so that people work harder to "rise up" like she did

she could not care less about people under her "rising up." in fact that would go against her true interests. she climbed the ladder of success then systematically pulled it up after so nobody else could follow.

I think everyone is entitled to their own opinion world-wide.

Still, I'm not too keen on foreigners meddling in American politics. Especially Canadians. They seem to lack an identity of their own.

i have a problem with right-wing types from any country telling me that i should jerk myself up by my bootstraps and become a capitalist as though that were the easiest thing.

If you're replying to me, then you've misunderstood. Regardless of what a foreigner feels either way (liberal/conservative), I find their meddling nature annoying and kind of sad.

Wasn't even talking about actual political philosophy.

As far as what your're talking about, it should be obvious how I feel...(HINT: I agree with you). I was talking more about a generalized fascination and 'wanting to be part of the club' on the part of non-Americans. Comes across as somewhat desperate and self-deprecating.

We live in a global online society and if it didn't occur to you America benefits from interfering in the affairs of Canada and Australia.

That's what conservatives call the "Welfare Trap".

They want to maximize human potential by kicking people off welfare.

Like a mother bird kicks her chicks out of the nest.
