Well getting back on topic, I wonder what would happen if the red states like Texas actually did succeed in becoming more fascist? What would that mean for the blue states?

well i would say a Oil and agricultural/food Embargo would be possible in the event of a secession or even more polarization than we have now.

Not really, it's way messier than just that. Some conservatives are still basically Whigs, but there's also a lot of reactionaries and other extremists that self-identify as conservatives.

Just a reminder: under international law, an occupying power has no right of self-defense, and those who are occupied have the right and duty to liberate themselves by any means possible.

No, you're not.

How about Texas has policies that remind one of a fascist theocracy?

The abortion laws were never about "protecting the unborn", they were about controlling peoples' sexuality.

If they weren't, then why do Christians stand in front of abortion clinics yelling "slut" and "whore" to anybody to walks in or out of them?

At this point, I would rather vote for a communist than a Republican.

Gotta love christian fundies. They love judging others. Perhaps they should read the bible a little more carefully.
Matthew 7 :"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?

Could u please explain to me what a Whig was or is because all i know is that it was like one of the original parties before we got the the dominant Dem-Repub 2 party system back in the 1800s or so.I know that the Whig party died out.Sorry for not knowing.

Basically I'm referring to conservatives who support the liberal values America was founded on as opposed to the more reactionary types who have utopian visions of some earlier view of traditionalism they'd like to impose.

Someone like Mitt Romney would be an example of what I mean.

The right thinks even moderate GOP people are no different than the Dems. To them, anyone to the left of MTG or Matt Gaetz is a socialist who wants to legalize bestiality and pedophilia.

But I have news for them: Bigots are a million times worse than pedophiles and murderers put together. So everybody's vision of America had better be a giant hippie commune.

But all of these terms aren't perfect synonyms. The right isn't exactly synonymous with conservatives, there's people who are more extreme than conservatives and when you use a bunch of terms with specific meanings like they're all interchangeable it makes it harder to use those terms to talk about differences between blocs within that broader part of the spectrum.

It's like if you're trying to discuss the difference between social democrats and liberals with someone and someone else just keeps insisting they're all commies. It's worthwhile to recognize some of them care more about their country than getting their way even if others are literally praising the Taliban.

What I want is NYC, San Francisco, and Seattle values shoved down the throats of all Texans.

We have federalism in this country not centralism.

I suspect that wouldn't go how you think it would.

I dont know if she would be allowd to run in 24 because she turns 35 i think the month before the general election and that means she would start primary before she was 35 and i think you have to be 35 to run for president of these United States of America.

Yes, we are.

Sex toys are illegal, even dick pics are illegal. Abbott will say it's to "protect" women, but it's really about legislating morality. And forget about marijuana being legal.

Texas needs to be like California and New York. If things are legal in those states, they should be legal here. I guarantee that Gavin Newsom and Kathy Hochul aren't signing fetal heartbeat bills into law.

Both fascism and theocracy actually have real meanings, and dick pic and sex toys bans and no legal weed aren't it. You don't have church control of the state, and you don't have an authoritarian government acting in partnership with private industry to oppress you, you just don't like your laws.

At the very least, Texas is run by laughably prudish people.
