Al the end of the talk I stood up and said, " so basically you deny God from lack of evidence." he said "yes".
I said "I have no evidence of your thoughts, do I? So how do I know you have a brain???"
He just stood there, quivering. Then he fell to his knees and started crying, "God forgive me, what have I done, I have sinned, what have I done".
Then he crawled away on his hands and knees dripping tears on the stage, while everyone applauded me. Then I led them to the nearest church.

The biggest flaw in this fiction is that Dawkins is one of those people who is incapable of admitting defeat when it comes.
Ever thought maybe it's just that he hasn't been defeated by you guys?
If God exists, Dawkins was defeated the moment he first uttered his doubts. I personally deeply know that God exists. So, to whatever degree I can evidense that knowledge to others, I still have the personal knowledge that Dawkins is wrong. And on a certain level, so does he.
Do you "know" he exists? You started that post off with "If God exists", which means I've caught you on it. You yourself, deep down in a place in your sub-conscious that you don't want to look, know that it's all bull. Yet, your republican am I correct? So you believe in pushing this lie down peoples' throats?

no. his point is more "there is no proof so therefore there is no god." so he's yet to be defeated. god has yet to be proven in any capacity rather less the christian capacity.

i'll translate what you just said into real people's...what you're saying is you have no idea at all but you believe strongly and that is more than enough proof for you.
you then seek to instill others with the same belief and accepting of a belief as fact rather than just a personal believe that can neither be proven or disproven.
you think dawkins is wrong but you can't prove it. he thinks your wrong and he has more evidence on his side (the blatant lacking of anything god related in the world other than stories).
That's hearsay and you know it. I'm getting tired of these stupid arguments from Christ-haters like yourself...

Nice spin job! I'm sorry that you hate me for believing in God. I guess you'll just have to deal with it.

You are entitled to believe as you see fit. You and God can discuss your objections in the afterlife (briefly).

If God exists, then he has some explaining to do.

it's not hearsay, it's fact. proven with reproducible results.
it's not christ i hate. it's a portion (not everyone) of the people who believe it to be real that i have a distaste for.
the character of christ is kinda one dimensional. at most i find him boring.

If you strip away all the miraculous BS, you have one of the first major political activists who was relatively peaceful, like Mahatma Gandhi or Martin Luther King Jr.
Not quite that pretty a picture, peaceful or not. You've also got a man who formed an intricate web of deceit and organized his entire life around leading others to believe it. Half the things Jesus allegedly said and did are deliberate allusions to OT prophecy (and to himself being the fulfillment of those prophecies).
How much of Jesus' life is documented in sources other than the Gospels, both the Bible and the various others, hmmm? He may have exploited the Jewish prophecy of a messiah, he may not have. We have little objective data about his life.

Aye, but we have very little objective data about anybody at all. I don't think that the writings and traditions of his followers should be ignored in coming to develop an idea of the historical Jesus, but you're right in that it does, at some point, become ridiculous to suppose this or that about someone's motives, based on a body of frequently interpolated documents handed down by those personally invested in a certain interpretation.

How do you know?
I don't know what Soph would say (ok, now I do
Thank you, but that's not addressing the question of how Sopho knows that I don't know God.
In epistemology, belief and knowledge are two distinct concepts. Knowledge depends on three facts:
- Belief
- Truth of the belief
- Justification for the truth of the belief
You clearly satisfy the first criterion; the second criterion is debatable as ever, and your appeal to subjective personal experience would be an unconvincing argument to most philosophers (someone has already mentioned the philosophical problem of other minds).
