Of course she remained a virgin forever. This was confimed by Salome, daughter of Herodias, queen of of Chalcis and Armenia minor, who fingered Mary after she gave birth to confirm it. It's in a early second century writing called the protoevangelium of James.

"Then said Salome: as the lord my God liveth, unless I thrust in my finger, and search the parts, I will not believe a virgn has brought forth..........And Salome put in her finger"

No. I don't believe that mary was a virgn nor that the queen just happened to be hanging out in a remote run-down stable.

I just find it funny that 2nd century believers crafted a story about mary being finger banged by a queen to justify their belief.

A little over one-half believed Mary to have been a virgin, and, of these, a fair number (probably most of the Catholics) believed that Mary remained a virgin throughout her life.

Aspies may tend to be a bit more rational than most folks.

Didn't Jesus have siblings? So, what, they were virgin births as well?! Ridiculous!

They were josephs by a previous marriage.

But wait- they werent around for the nativity.
Humm.
Nevermind.

There is no reason to believe that Jesus was not a nice man from family.
the idea that his followers add the deification and virgin birth etc. I think is the best fit.

Exactly.

Certain stories are just in the air and get attached to diefied figures. Virgin births, being delivered from danger shortly after birth, etc.

In a few centuries Americans will probably believe that both Reagan and Obama were born of virgins-assuming we have the same two politcal parties as now!

Or atleast that they both walked on water.

Virgin or miraculous birth is a common theme in myth and religion, not unique to Christianity.

It's symbolic of purity, of a holy person and their teachings coming from a pure source.

This need to believe Mary was a virgin is a result of fundamentalist thinking and materialism, as is the belief in a physical resurrection.

If Mary was a hermaphrodite with her male genitals inside her body and not visible then it would of course have been possible to not be realised by Jojo!
And such things really exist, therefore...
Considering the propability that just anybody of those people in the course of the time until the bible was translated into Latin lied, while it's said that every human being lies or betrays up to 200 times a day and how incredibly small the chance is to be born as a hermaphrodite I would say...
She was sinning with the gardener when Jojo was in California to finally get this important advertising contract for his toothpaste brand...

It is entirely possible that Mary may have been a virgin her entire life; having instead adopted Jesus. But that would make for underwhelming propiganda, so it was edited in post!

Good point. As a believer in Jesus Christ, I believe Jesus to be both human and divine. His divine component can be symbolized by birth from a virgin, but this does not mean Mary was literally a virgin.

It does appear that virgin births are fairly common.

Right.

One in 200 young women in the USA dont understand how to fill out a questionaire, were drunk at the time, or are in denial.

You could get one of these young ladies to do a DNA test on their child. If the child turns out to be a clone of the mom (with no paternal DNA) then.... Twilight Zone music!

But whats even more disturbing is those "virgin fathers"!

Even in theory...how would THAT work?

The Bible is clear that Jesus had siblings. Mary and Joseph had children after Jesus' "virgin birth."
