Because backwards attitudes like this delay progress.

Using my graph theory example, it would be like telling Euler he were wasting time with the seven bridges problem; better to look at real 'practical' issues.

And of course we need graph theory for efficiently routing Internet packets...

If you're so worried about delaying progress, why don't you go and invent nuclear fusion yourself? I'm sure you could do it.

And of course im not going to go search for data to back it up, all I do here is defend myself from attacks.. you're not worthy of knowing truth.. and i didn't say collision, it will come near the earth and cause mass disasters.

...I'm not a physicist. I enjoy physics a lot but, like I said, I'm studying computer science and applied mathematics, which I can do best.

I was making probabalistic statements not definite statements. How is trying to prove a hypothesis that previous experiments have failed to prove progress?

Also, even if you were right, all of your arguments are wrong.

actually satire is a real word... :chin:

By nature, you can't prove a hypothesis, scientific or statistical, so I hope you have a point. You can have a high degree of confidence in a hypothesis, which is almost like proof, but not the same.

I believe the Mayan prophesy about 2012 because I had a dream about it when I was 16 years old. Back then I was a know it all atheist.
I didn't research the 2012 prophesy until this year and I believe in all that now. Life can't go on the way we are living for obvious reasons that I'm not going to explain. You can decide for yourself if you want to take the red or blue pill.

Anyways, the thread isn't about proving anything about 2012, it's about fighting for justice. It does seem like an idealistic idea to think that we can treat each other with respect and kindness, but I think it's worth standing up for my beliefs. In the end all we will have is our own integrity.

It would be easier to shut my eyes and pretend like nothing is happening. We live amongst zombies already. Do you know where the term zombie comes from? Look it up. They were slave laborers.
