I don't like bullies.
I never knew people in wrong planet can go to their level.

I would like both sides to say something nice about the people in the other side.
Any takers?

I find it quite intresting that the page containing Stephen Joneses paper "cannot be displayed"...

Possibly this has something to do with a CIA firewall placed around it to prevent access?

But it is fine with you if Mackloket says I am delusional?

Hypocrite.

It's fine by alot of people to say that you are delusional! Alot of people think it, but Matchlocket was the first to have the balls to say it.

Actually, I wasn't the first person to say it:
http://www.sciforums.com/showthread.php ... post906763

I found some neat stuff on the Internet, such as where Happeh learned of AS:
http://www.physicsforums.com/showthread.php?t=82221

As I admitted on another thread, I googled Happeh soon after he complained about treatment he'd received on other forums. I wasn't the first to admit it, but I feel a bit guilty for suggesting others do the same.
Hell, it probably gave his ego a boost, as if it needed any more boosting
Anyway, maybe there's no need for me to feel guilty!
I wouldn't have been so confrontational if he hadn't been so smug and obnoxious.

And, Happeh, if you're reading, I don't mean to cause any offence by referring to you in the third person.

Now, some might consider what Happeh wrote about aspies on that board as flattering. You know, all the stuff about aspies being honest, and original, independent thinkers. It didn't sound too well-informed to me, but it's not much different from a lot of stuff I've read on aspie message boards about what a superior species we're supposed to be.
Happeh himself said one of the reasons we came here was that he'd heard aspies were supposed to be intelligent. Evidently this was disproved in his eyes by the fact that hardly anyone on this board believed any of his theories.

You know what? I have my own theories about the source of Happeh's theories. I actually think many of his views are not uncommon. I would place them under the "New Age" umbrella. Has anyone come across a magazine called Nexus? It's full of "alternative" science, ancient "wisdom" and conspiracy theories (but the contributors don't seem to share Happeh's obsession with the Jews).

Many people are driven by curiosity about the world around them. It's one of the things that drives scientists. Religions have also been used to explain the myseries of nature. Many people in the West these days are turning to the "wisdom of the ancients" (i.e., even more ancient than Jesus, usually) and basically creating their own hotchpotch belief systems.
For example, there are many people these days who buy the notion that eastern mysticism helps explain quantum physics. Why? Because both subjects are a bit weird and mysterious. Also, conveniently, eastern mysticism doesn't require any training in maths.
It's common to wonder about the patterns in nature as well as in the human world.
Why are spirals and Fibonacci numbers so common in nature? This is a serious scientific and mathematical question.
Why are pyramids so common among ancient cultures that could never have come in contact (e.g., the Egyptians and the Mayans)? Again, this is a good question, but the answers it provokes are usually less scientific (e.g., stuff about aliens - read Eric von Daniken).
If you don't try answering these sorts of questions with scientific rigour, then it's only a short step from studying Fibonacci numbers to pontificating about aliens. And if you're into ancient cultures, with all their fertility cults, then soon you could be seeing penises everywhere and speculating that the universe is a big vagina.

Why should these beliefs go hand in hand with conspiracy theories? Well, if you believe this stuff, you'll soon start to wonder what's happened to all this ancient wisdom. "Surely it's been repressed!" You'll think.
"It's so simple!" You'll think. "No one needs to spend years at university studying quantum mechanics if they want to know about the forces of nature. It's all a big con! All you need is to read the I Ching! Anyone can do it!"
"And no one needs to spend years at medical school to find out how the body works! Just listen to the wisdom of the ancients!"

Then you'll start to wonder why the places where this wonderful knowledge and all these ancient beliefs and rituals are the most widespread are among the poorest places on earth. And you'll conclude that these people being exploited for material gain. Perhaps their superior knowledge is being used against them for immoral ends! Perhaps the benefits of that knowledge are being deliberately hidden from future generations!
And you'll wonder, "who might be the ones in search of this material gain, the ones doing the exploiting?" How about the Jews? They've usually got lots of money, haven't they?

Well, that's my theory. Feel free to laugh.

The Stephen Jones paper is still available online. The link midge posted doesn't work because he put an extra full stop at the end.

Try this --> http://www.physics.byu.edu/research/energy/htm7.html

So much for the CIA firewall. Another theory bites the dust.

I am no fan of Happeh or his theories (except the 9/11 conspiracy), but I have this to say.

I notice it is the right-wingers and the self-proclaimed bullies like Sean that are going too far here and using Happeh as a punchbag for all their pent up aggression.

Some of what he said may have been offensive, but the rules are the rules, and as Vivi said, they apply to everyone, and Happeh has a right to be defended by them just as much as we do. I hate bullies, and I fear some people on here are turning into bullies, and others are bullies already.

asking people to refrain from personal attacks - whether they're here or not - was not a suggestion. this is the last warning before the thread is locked until people can cool down and be civil.

And as a citizen of the United States, it is his right.... RobertN, if you are from the UK as your profile states, why are you so deeply offended if some one wants to defend their countries leader? I ask this in the most polite way I can, as I am very intrested in your take on this. it is established that you care not for Bush, or capitalism, or perhaps even democracy. I am wondering why? (and I get where you are going with the capitalism, though im not in aggreance with it) Corruption, real or precieved, aside, What is your angle? What do YOU defend?

I defend democracy, compassion, and equality, LadySmokeEater.

Democracy is not the same as capitalism. In fact, pure democracy and pure capitalism are mutually exclusive.

Bush is neither democratic nor compassionate, nor a lover of equality.

Equality comes with true democracy.

Bush is the world's no.1 terrorist, and defending him is a crime against humanity. He is probably responsible for more deaths in the last five years than every single Muslim in the world put together over the last 1000 years!! !! !

Just because I am from the UK doesn't mean I defend Tony Blair. I hate him!! I hate our Royal Family as well.

As an answer to your question, I defend the powerless, not the powerful!! !! :shameonyou:

Oh really? What about the Bangladesh genocide of 1971 where Pakistanis massacred over a million Bangladeshis? Or what about the Iraq-Iran war of the 1980s in which over a million people died? What about Sudan where tens of thousands of Black Muslims have been murdered by Arab Muslims?
These example are from within the last 35 years alone!

And since they are all examples of Muslim-on-Muslim violence, you rarely hear them mentioned when people are comparing George Bush and Ariel Sharon to Adolf Hitler.

Were not that different! I remember a time when England was criticized much the same way the U.S is now for its occupation of Northern Ireland! Cheerio

I know they are not the same, but how exactly are they mutually exclusive? In the purest uncorrupted states....

Exactly how? I understood the muslims to have killed more of their own than anyone else...

As is your right to hate. But if your country comes under attack, will you defend your home land??
