Our New President - President Donald Trump
-Promises of deregulation
-Promises of personal and business tax cuts
-Promise of repeal of Dodd-Frank
People are making phenomenal money thanks to Trump.
Another proof that the stock market is full of greedy idiot who love to drain money through irrational and unchecked speculation. And wasn't Trump supposed "to drain the swamp" by the way? Guess conservatives like Wall Street after all; they certainly like it better than those who know what they talking about, like university teachers and scientists.
Not to mention, isn't Dodd-Frank supposed to protect people from the financier leaches from taking their money with impunity? How is getting rid of that a good thing, save for the said financier leaches?
That's like saying ....
- Aren't the EPA safe water regulations suppose to protect Flint drinking water?
- Aren't FDA regulations suppose to protect us from one of these many, many litigated drugs we see on tv?
- Won't gun control regulations protect us from gun massacres?
Government regulations are an illusion of safety.
So there's no point in trying?
The bullsh*t in Flint happened because the Republican governor had allowed dirty river water to replace the safe stuff, and was able to get away with it because Flint is a largely poor, black city.
Pretty sure those lead pipes weren't installed by that Republican governor nor was he the person who made the decision to switch the water supply to the more acidic Flint River. It was an issue a long time coming and one ultimately of incompetence & neglect by the local officials who made these decisions.

How old were those pipes? Did they predate the time when we realized lead was poisonous?

I think it is pretty clear that I am not voicing an opinion on the policy.
1) trump is the first president to have publicly talked with the leader in Tiawan in my lifetime
2) Mainland China complains
3) trump acknowledges the one China policy
4) China grants the trademark a few days later after not granting it for the previous 10 years.
You can deny this pattern, but then I will have to assume you are lying or not in touch with reality.
Trump accepted a congratulatory phone call from the president of the ROC, it was not a public endorsement for Taiwanese independence.
You 'pattern' is irrelevant and your insinuation poorly thought out
I dont know wether it is better to hope you are lying or not.
Trust in media is at lowest point since data have been collected:

Trust in science is getting lower, but that doesn't mean that science is wrong.

what we need is break up the big telecommunication companies just like we do the banks, 6 companies should not control all the media in America
On that point, you are absolutely correct.

Also a note to those cheer leading the anti-democratic deep state; these were the people that murdered President Kennedy and these are the people that will forever prevent change & progress in this country. What do you think these deep staters would be doing if Bernie Sanders was president? They represent the interests of the Wall Street and the Military-Industrial Complex, they have shown how far they are willing to go to protect their interests before. The deep state is the enemy of freedom, they might seem benevolent as long as you don't resist your fated serfdom but look at how they've squirmed at the very thought of fairer deal. These traitors need to be rooted out and purged from our government for real change to ever occur in this country.

And the movers and shakers among librarians have been warning us about the consolidation of content and conduit into to several monopolies for the past 35+ years.

Life will go on just fine without DC bureaucrats deciding how people should live their lives.
We don't need Dodd-Frank or Glass-Steagall.
Government regulations are wrong for so many reasons. Perhaps the most dangerous is that the regulations warp people's minds. They make people think that government is "daddy protector", and "daddy" will keep us safe. So, they turn to "daddy" and demand accountability, or ask for bailouts.

Especially If he brings more industry and jobs back to America. If he fixes ACA. And so on.
And some or perhaps a lot of the people who have freaked out over him, will calm down and start to take more of a liking.
And daily media hit pieces will start becoming less poplar. I think one of saddest parts of all this is how tabloid-like some reputable media sources seem to have gotten.
Maybe in the long run Trump will turn out to be a good president. And of so, then what will people have to say for themselves?
Even if the US economy get better while he's president, if it's at the cost of the environment, social services and human rights, then I will still consider him a bad president.

Yeah, see----the devil is in the details..... President Trump did NOT "publicly talk" to the leader of Taiwan----it was REPORTED to the public; and, who's to say that other presidents haven't done it, and it wasn't reported.
Please refer to the last sentence of my previous post.

I wasn't addressing "a pattern"----I was simply addressing that ONE point (hence, my quoting only that one), and I felt it was wrong to say President Trump "publicly talked", when he didn't do that. Is there a video clip with audio, somewhere, of President Trump speaking to President Tsai Ing-wen, of Taiwan?
Someone from CNN is going to discover Trump ate in Thai restaurant and conclude he's having business dealings with Tsai Ing-wen.

the price of tea in China.

Much of seventh-floor staff, who work for the Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources and the Counselor offices, were told today that their services were no longer needed.
And if seventh-floor sounds familiar to you, here is why :
(...)
The FBI also released the summary of an interview that revealed a cabal at State that oversaw the email release — a “powerful group of very high-ranking STATE officials that some referred to as ‘The 7th Floor Group’ or as ‘The Shadow Government.’ This group met every Wednesday afternoon to discuss . . . everything CLINTON-related to FOIA/Congressional inquiries.”

I realized later on in afterthought that I gotten the names Taiwan and Thailand mixed up. But maybe it's funnier the way I wrote it. Which is just about as bad as when I once referred to the noodles I like from a place called Tokyo Wok as Chinese food.
