That's part of the reason no Trump supporters can ever be taken seriously.

As everyone keeps on saying Trump's views on undocumented immigration is one thing out of billions. Your narrow focus on it tells everyone all that we need to know.

Until they start passing laws that remove rights from gays or any group yes I’m fine with it. The democrats tried to and passed laws that remove rights form groups of people. Both parties passed the patriot act, both parties enjoyed using it.

By 'removing rights from certain people' do you mean passing gun regulations? And why are you trying to defend Trump so hard, he has said and done racist things in public...he stereotyped hispanic immigrants as rapists and criminals and he didn't even specify illegal(though even if he had it still would not have been accurate). Here's why - they are BIGOTS. They can't see it because acknowledging that Trump is bigoted would mean acknowledging that they themselves are bigoted. Some see that and worship it. Others want to live in a state of denial due to what that would say about them.

Some who voted for Trump in the first year have stopped supporting him due to all of the bigoted actions he's taken (just see the twitter page Trump_Regrets) those that are left over - well, they don't want to look in the mirror.

it is plain that many of his supporters see him through the lens of perceived protection of 2nd amendment "rights" and care not one whit about anything else. rather like how a hammer only knows how to nail things.

I have some hope that there are ignorant people who truly can't see it, some come to mind, but then there are others who don't see it while at the same time repeating white nationalist beliefs, others come to mind here. Other times they truly do show ignorance. It's this group that still has a chance, but I have no idea how and each day I lose faith that they ever will wake up. As said, many broke away over the course of the first year due to seeing what Trump is and his blatant bigotry. What is distancing them from this bunch, no clue. But some have started to see him for what he is - an agent of chaos; just no idea what the "first years" had that these hanger-ons don't.
