I would be willing to bet 2/3rds of a troy ounce of silver that Sarah Palin would be able to do far better than Barack Obama as president. Even with your mockery of her as an opposite to that which Democrat elites would seek to glorify themselves as, she'd still be doing a better job of running this country than Obama even if she were to hunt buffalo with an M134 from the second story of the White House because at least then she'd be 1) not wasting taxpayer money on endless campaign speeches, and 2) she'd not be trying to put arbitrary changes into effect to help "stimulate" the economy with the power of micromanagement and lack of forethought, and perhaps 3) a buffalo could feed a fair number of people thereby reducing the amount of taxpayer money needed to feed politicians.
I agree, and I don't think Romney has a serious chance in the general election, but he is by far the best-placed Republican to take the nomination right now. No one else is close.

I don't think that the Washington Zoo has any buffalo. She might end up shooting a giraffe or a rhino.
Mrs. Palin is certainly funnier than President Obama, although President Obama does have a pretty decent stand-up routine.
If Mrs. Palin were elected, we would all laugh very very hard, until the laughter turned to tears. Then we would all cry very very hard, until we started laughing again.
I still think that Elmer Fudd would be a better choice.

Still, I'd rather have what a bunch of stuck up liberals would consider a joke than a person arbitrarily promising "change" and anything else to buy his votes.
Ginrich is definitely out now with his opposition to Ryan's plan.
It only leaves Romney at this point, in my opinion as a serious contender for the Republican Nomination
I doubt he will win the general election; but anything is possible if things get really bad in the country between now and then.

Hey, if Obama's actually been attempting to improve the US economic situation, then that's almost a certainty.

Things that I could imagine that might make a difference in the election. If gas prices go above $5 a gallon. If unemployment goes back up over 10%. Another terrorist attack, but I'm not sure which way that might swing it; would depend on all the circumstances of such an attack, I think.
If healthcare stands I think it will motivate both parties to come out and vote; but Republicans might be a bit more motivated as a result of that, I think. If healthcare is overturned, I think it will dishearten Democrats and invigorate Republicans.
I think a big part of the result may be the emotions in play at the election, and how motivated both parties are to vote.
With Romney, unfortunately, some Republicans may not want to vote for him in the general election because he is a Morman. I don't think they'll vote for Obama either. If they manage to get their warm body to a poll, they'll probably close their eyes, hope for the best and vote for Romney at the last minute. I hate to say it, but some of those people might not get motivated enough to go to the polls with a Canidate that is Morman.
I doubt many people in the mainstream media will dare bring this up as a real issue though. I've already heard some pretty interesting conspiracy stories on the outer edges of media related to the fulfillment of prophecies of the Morman Religion.
Should be a very interesting election. Particularly if healthcare stands and Romney has to argue the Republican position on the mandate; although I understand it is a different issue on the state level that than the national level.
Extremely intelligent also, but I think she might be a bit too much of a straight talker to pull it off. Also, I don't think she has a big enough ego to push for the position.
I do agree though that she would probably make a better president than Sarah Palin.
Another thing though, regarding Colin Powell and Condoleza Rice; their association with the Iraq war, although I think they were used as pawns (in my opinion), that might be seen as a political problem; not sure there though.
Colin Powell, if he was willing to run would have been an excellent choice over McCain in the previous election, I think. Still seen as an honest, trustworthy individual at this point, I think. And, if they didn't mess around with his honor (in my opinion), who knows, he might have been willing to run.
Americans thoroughly deserve their thuggish political leaders. America is in a race to the bottom with its free market economy. The political leaders voted in by the people are the people you deserve.
The next Republican President will more than likely be a clone of George W. Bush. Bush was well known for his thuggery and bully tactics both domestically and internationally. Bush regarded his political opponents as being with the Terrorists. You are either with us or your with the enemy. 1950s style Anti-Communist McCarthyism tactics are the order of the day under a Republican President.
What countries are next in the firing line to be freed and liberated by the Republican War machine? Only a war economy brings the American economy back from the dead.

Do you think that Obama has improved the perception of America in the world in regard to this concern and the previous administration?
There was great expectation that he would.
I'm thinking he hasn't met all expectations, but the perception of America has improved some in the eyes of people in other countries, I believe.
If so, do you think he is the best choice in the next election, to continue to improve the perception of America in the eyes of people in other countries?

Who gives a sh*t? As Machiavelli pointed out it is better to be feared than loved.
Did the Romans give a damn if the barbarians loved them or not?
I doubt it.

We've had some positive changes over the last couple of years.
Plus, Mrs. Palin, who is naturally rather feisty, is going through menopause. The hormones are going to make her even feistier. She'll no doubt start a few wars that we didn't see coming.

Well, most of us would probably like to imagine that we've become a tad more civilized during the last couple of thousand years.
On the other hand, we would like Al Qaeda members to be defficating in their pants right now.
