I was torn between choosing capitalism or the essential nature of people. I think capitalism has created a system in which it's every difficult for regular people to do the right thing, because choices are taken away from them and corporations and the super-wealthy have so much control.

On the other hand, people do have the power of numbers, and they are not exercising their power, because instead of informing themselves they believe the most outrageous lies, and give in to prejudice and foolishness. There is so much ignorance and so many misconceptions that when people are outraged enough to act, they do the wrongest, most damaging thing possible (as in the Tea Party).

Survival of the fittest is an ideal system in the jungle when all you have is stones and spears.
But once you begin to develop nanotechnology that simply wont cut it any more.

if the technology does not "cut" it, then it will not survive.
"survival of the fittest" is a universal principle that pervades all aspects of existence, even down to the most "unnatural" and nanoscopic

Indeed. "Survival of the Fittest" is the essence of the competitive market economy. the best product or service wins in the long run and the less good products eventually fall by the wayside.

....its not that the world is flawed, or that even people are flawed, its the story they live is flawed
His solution was simply to change the story
