No, darling. You protest over lost lives: well, bacteria are alive and yet you presumably have no problem destroying them. Therefore, your problem isn't actually with the loss of life. I'm going to give you a few hints here, in the hopes of speeding things up: this is a discussion that we always have any time a pro-lifer comes on. If you are like most pro-lifers, your problem isn't that it's life, it isn't that it has a heartbeat, it isn't that it's human, it isn't that it's genetically unique. It isn't even that it can feel pain. Your problem is that something which probably will develop into a child in the future is being destoryed; it is the loss of future potential, not the value of the thing as it currently exists, because that thing is pretty self-evidenlty close to worthless in its current state.

Not exactly. There was a fetus that eventually developed into me, but those cells have been completely replaced through attrition and development; the higher-order collection of perceptions and thoughts that I am composed of did not exist when that zef existed. If that zef had been aborted, 'I' would never have existed.

So, since I was once a fetus (which eventually became the human being that I am today), I should be concerned about other fetuses that have the potential to become human beings? Since my sperm and the egg of some random woman in China have the potential to become a human being, should the government force me to inject said sperm (through artificial insemination or otherwise) into random woman in China so said potentiality becomes an actuality?

Why not? The only feature about fetus you are trying to sell is "OMG ITS ALIVE". But in reality, we do not care about life. And life is not a great accomplishment. Germs, ants, rats, bunnies, cows, chicken, dandruff. All are ALIVE but perfectly legal to kill.
What you need is to think of a trait that:
a) Is present what we consider living human beings.
b) Is present in early embrios (Because most abortion proponents are fine if only earlish abortion is made legal).
c) Is not also present in things that we do not consider human beings.
Example: Heart beats are present in rats, so that's not a great answer to the question. LIFE!!11 is present in bacteria so that is not either.
