Last I heard, the tea party doesn't have a central spokesperson.

This is clear confirmation of what we've been saying all along - Tea Baggers and their Republican supporters are so insane in their zeal to get Obama out of office that they're willing to destroy the economy of the whole country to do it.

Actually, there are only a handful of people here that I would even remotely consider hiring if I were rich, cause I wouldn't want to hire someone that falsely blames me for their own problems, and despises me because I happen to be successful.

This has nothing to do with refusing to hire people because of personal animosity against a particular employer. Again, this is solely about trying to make the economy look worse than it really is by keeping as many people as possible unemployed, to keep the president from being reelected.

And there hasn't been a job I've worked where someone there hadn't disliked the boss at some point or other. Guess what - the stayed employed there as long as they did their job. And that's all employers care about, or else they're going to run out of a a pool of employees fast.

Disliking one's boss is a lot different than feeling entitled to the boss's stuff.

Right now hiring anyone is pure stupidity due to all the uncertainty caused by Obamacare and other new Government Regulations. Furthermore, the push to not hire people is to make a point that businesses are not going to tolerate being treated like dirt, and if the current administration doesn't change its behavior, they can and will either support the opposing candidate or take their business out of this country entirely or both.

In case you haven't noticed Boeing has already sued the Government over the NLRB decision.

I don't recall when you made the point of employees wanting their boss' money before this.

And it's better for employers and the rich to treat working people and the poor like dirt?

As long as the employer is paying the agreed upon wage, and providing the agreed up conditions of work, no one is treating anyone like dirt. Hiring a person, is not a parental relationship. It is strictly business. Way back when, when I hired someone I never used the first person possessive pronoun in connection with that person. I never referred to people who worked for me as MY employee. It was always "someone who working for me". I hire people, I don't own them and I am not their parent.

So serfs in the middle ages weren't treated like dirt? In many cases, serfdom was contractual, and the serfs, legally, could get up and leave after their contract was over. And wander around, having no land and eventually starve to death. Just because someone has an alternative according to law doesn't mean they have a real choice. In modern economies, the more uneven the distribution of wealth, the less bargaining room the working class has, and the lower wages they may be forced to accept. So having a large percentage of the population that's constantly threatened with starvation, but not actually starving to the point where it has a negative impact on their health, is the optimal condition for business. Is this the market at work?

I was actually referring to the Tea Bagger scheme to keep people unemployed for the sake of political advantage.

I saw the quote about not hiring attributed to just ONE person of the tea party persuasion. How do you assume that ALL people of that persuasion favor not hiring? Have you taken a statistically valid poll? If not you don't have a leg to stand on.

Really? Just one? Well then, I must take back my condemnation of the whole idiotic movement in this one case, and focus it all on this one heartlessly imbecilic individual.

That is a correct thing to do. Remember that the Tea Party Movement was started by people of libertarian persuasion to push the U.S. back toward constitutional governance. The movement was hijacked by the right wing of the Republican party when it lead independents to give Democrats a drubbing in the bi-election of 2010. So what started out as a move to constitutional government was transformed into a mindless anti-Obama action. I think Obama has to go, but we have a country to live and and operate between now and the 2012 elections. We should see to it.

He lacks leadership and his administration has been a disaster, perhaps following a disaster in the prior administration. In any case, he is an Empty Suit. All he knows how to do is campaign. He cannot lead.

Had Lincoln been defeated after his first term, he'd have been remembered as a failure as a president. Today, we recognize him as our best president - largely due to achievements in his second term.
I'm not going to count Obama's worth as a president out yet. And the fact remains, he actually had gotten quite a few things passed in congress, and he had killed our current greatest enemy. I think now that he realizes that trying to be a conciliator with the Republicans isn't ever going to work, he'll hopefully show the leadership I believe is in him.
