Yeah, I'm not sure what's going on there. I prefer flat black bulldoggers myself, though I do own a fancier pair with silver tips and heel plates. I've got a set of spurs somewhere, I made the rowels myself from decent stock so they're actually sharp; I was rather fond of the movie
Tombstone back in highschool and wanted my own set of bladed spurs. I'd never use those on a horse though, they don't tend to like getting cut up.
