White is not a race. Polish, Serbian, Romanian, Czech, German, French, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, Irish, Italian, Spaniard, Portuguese, Dutch, Scottish, and Swiss are all 'races' that have mainly white skinned bloodlines. Even a good amount of asian people have white skin.
Black skinned people include the majority of people form Africa, African-Americans, and some aboriginal peoples.
There is no such thing as yellow people, or red people (red haird but not red skinned). I find it stupid we even call people white or black.
My race isn't white, my people called them selves Dutch, Algonquin Native Americans, Germans, and Central Eurpeans. There isn't a country called White or Blanco is there? When I have to sign a paper with a checkbox for race, and the only one that applies is 'White', it pisses me off. I shouldn't have to be the race of effing 'White'. African foreign nationals, African Americans, and Australian Aborigines shouldn't have to be the race of 'Black'. People from Asia get a checkbox that says Asian, but we don't get a North American checkbox? Sounds stupid.

My race isn't 'White'. I have white skin, there is a big difference. I am white, but that is not my race. My race is Dutch, German, Central European, and Native American, born in the US of A. If there was one word, I'd say Dutch Native American.

Those are all terms I learned from my first girlfriend's (black) father, along with referring to things that were beat up or neglected as niggerish, unkempt black children as nigglettes, and dozens more permutations of the word that I don't immediately recall. I have to admit, it's really funny to deploy one of these words in polite white company, especially here in the PNW where they're pretty much unknown amongst the white population.

Explains why I'm ignorant of such words.

I was playing GTA with a bunch of African-Americans and some little squeakers. The one African-American guy I teamed up with, to trick the squeakers into robbing a store with us so we could kill them by blowing them up, kept calling me his ****er, or comrade in meaning. We went round blowing crap up. He used all the slang for that too. He was pretty cool. I wish I knew his gamertag, he was a pretty good teammate on that game.

I live in the UK. The only time you hear the word n****r around here is from the US rap artists (case in point, I was listening to some Puff Daddy on the way to work and his lyrics are replete with that term).

So, really, as far as the rest of the world is concerned, it's the blacks who are keeping the word alive as a term of abuse (or affection - it's f*****g impossible to tell with rap lyrics)

I'm a technically caucasian guy with heavy hispanic-features(i.e. tan w/black hair and large brown eyes). Maybe I'm racist for enjoying the looks of it minus the weird accent. lol

No, it is not. You are just stating a factual observation. Making a negative assumption based on someone's character because they are white is different however. It depends on the connotations such a word has gained in the cultural context it has arisen. I know that calling somebody 'colored' is considered highly outdated now. I do often find, on a separate note however, that racism towards white people is more generally accepted due to the fact that there is not such a massive history of oppression but perhaps I am wrong.

When I think of the word "white," I think of copier paper or an iPhone. Skin color influenced by hemoglobin isn't white; it is peach. Is is racist to notice the phenotypical expressions of "race"/ species of humans???

So....
We have seven pages of people all saying that it is not racist to call a White person "White".

So the answer to the question posed by the OP must be "No".

So now that we all agree. And we all know that we all agree, so lets put this thread out of its misery already!

I know a poster here who would disagree with that! I mentioned in a description that a guy was black. Dude went off on me. For no reason.

That makes about as much sense as flying off the handle by saying someone had red hair.

Here is where someone should post the video of Tim Minchin performing his "Song of Prejudice" in which he plaintively croons "there's a certain word: consisting of one N, two G's, one I, one E, and one R, that has caused so much pain...."

Then he breaks into "GINGER! Only a ginger can call another ginger a "ginger"!"
