I think ethnic pride on any level is rather stupid and certainly undeserved. Why should YOU personally be "proud" of what some dead people in the past did that you contributed nothing to? You may not even be related to these people. I think it is fine to admire the work and output of a country/period/people/singular person, but to take personal "pride" in that seems bizarre to me.

The issue here is that that "pride" is coming in-spite of extremely strong and overwhelming (in America I speak for NO OTHER COUNTRY!) cultural propaganda that states that a very specific (nordic-looking) white is right, white is beautiful with absolutely NO OTHER versions of that, except creepy fetishistic ones.

So, it is often seen as a good thing when people are able to appreciate the beauty of something/one other than what has been socially sanctioned, i.e.: white beauty.

And the people that talk about "white pride" often do so while explicitly down-playing all of the bad things ancient/not-so-ancient white people did e.g: "Not all slave owners were bad people! They couldn't help it! They didn't know any better (biggest load of BS EVER!!) They weren't all bad slave owners you know!", "Hitler didn't kill THAT MANY Jewish people"
that stuff all happened in the past who cares! It hasn't affected anyone since!
Do NONE of these stupid neo-natizs understand or simply refuse to understand that generational influence is important?? That effects ripple throughout generations?? And can cause long-lasting and systemic harm?? and also vise-versa where good effects are compounded and percolate through time to kids and grandkids!

and other such incredible neo-natzi BS. I live near lots of neo-natizs that like to talk to me (and convince me) of this stuff... they try REALLY HARD to tell me why I should be racist and about the "amazingness" of the white race..
I don't think ANY race is amazeballs or anything, but I certainly appreciate certain things from certain groups more than others. Eg: I really love sushi (thanks japan!) and I think macaroons are the bomb (good job france!) and I love pumpkin pie ( score one indigenous america!I mean for the cultivation of it).

Not all White people were slave owners and most opposed slavery, but yet get lumped with the bad white racist people even though some were slaves themselves, My ancestors were slaves when they were brought to America the first time by the British and happened to be White Irish slaves but yet we get blamed for that too! The Moors enslaved both whites and blacks and sometimes the British sold Irish to the Moors as well and guess what the Moors are black too, but before then they enslaved other black tribes in Africa its a horrible thing to do to anybody. So because I am born with the lack of melanin I have to take the blame even though none of my descendants had anything to do with slavery and were slaves themselves, I have to be ashamed for being born my color I don't feel superior im not for white supremacy I just want to be proud being born just me but I cant because I am white and I cant truly be proud of my past because it is emberassing but it happened I am a descendant of slaves but none of my ancestors enslaved others.
