the people who are ok with a return to feudalism see themselves and theirs as the lords lording it over the rest of us in such a scenario.

Well ... the Nazis were certainly right-leaning ... but it's hard to call them conservatives. They had several really bizarre beliefs that didn't really fit the definition of "conservative", "left-wing" or "liberal".

I think that fascism and conservatism are both right-wing ... but they are still distinct from one another ... though they overlap on occasion. Similarly, communism and anarchism are distinct even though they are both left-wing.

There are plenty of Americans who self-identify as "conservative but not Republican". That's an option.

The Republican leaders did support Suharto and Pinochet. Today, they continue to collaborate with King Salman. Not all Republicans are in on this, but the Republican leaders are currently King Salman apologists.

Criminals don't follow the rules. Better to have the good guys armed than have the bad guys rule. We just need a better way of getting the guns to the RIGHT good guys.

They won’t know if you don’t have stuff or not til after breaking in and smashing the place up looking.
