Works!

I am ok with a site that allows the N word, and I am ok with one that forbids it.

Forbidding the N-word supports an anti-racist agenda. Not necessarily a "progressive agenda".

I am not feeling that feeling of indigination you have towards Alex for censoring it.

So if posting a direct quote where the word is used, it would still be censored but not changed to n-word. I see no problem with that. Also though I'd figure a progressive agenda would be the best kind...isn't progress a good thing?

Not always, when the context is politics. 8)

"Progressive" means different things to different people.

But I and ASPartofMe were using the word in the partisan sense to mean "left of center", or "liberal", or "green party".

SOME conservatives oppose racism as much as do Liberal Dems. I am pretty sure.

I know, and I think that is still progress.

Also, maybe personally they do, but they're too stubborn not to vote Republican and they largely don't do enough to condemn the racism of their more extreme counterparts. As we saw with that charlottesville thing many of them were just fine with standing shoulder to shoulder with white supremacists wielding tiki torches.

I would find it uncomfortable standing shoulder-to-shoulder with rioters, arsonists and looters.
There are a$$holes on both sides of the political divide.
If someone can't see that, they are blindly partisan. :cyclopsani:

Racism and prejudice has always been historically ascribed towards right-wing governance and conservatism. I despise racism in all its manifestations but I wouldn't surprised in the very least if the historical roots of prejudicial beliefs are grounded in conservatism. Nazis and Italian fascists all trace their historical roots towards a conservatist notion of society. Racist people are more likely to adopt conservatism/right wing ideologies because, being presumably white, they would prefer older times where white privilege had a whole radical different meaning.

They use a varied version of it, also not so sure it;s much of a cultural privilege so much as sort of a taking the word back so it has less power but not all black people agree with using that varied version.

Here in Australia, the right of politics tends to favour facts/reason/rationality.

The left, on the other hand, tends to embrace feelings and moral superiority.

I am a logical, rational autistic person, who finds emotionalism offensive, hence I consider myself to be a moderate conservative independent.

I would not want to stand shoulder to shoulder with arsonists and looters as they only want to take advantage of civil unrest, but rioters I'd consider depending on what the riot is about, not to mention much of the time the police provoke protests into becoming riots.

Sure there are a**holes on both sides of the political divide, but not sure everyone who's been involved in a riot is an a**hole.

It actually is a cultural privilege, since the blacks can use that term with impunity, while non-blacks can't. ;)

I have no idea what you mean by "varied version".
I only know how it is used on TV, the movies, or in games such as Grant Theft Auto.

I thought Hitler was more left though, since people on the extreme left seem to believe in government supression of certain things, which is what Hitler was into. So I thought he was more extreme left.

Unfortunately, at least as far as U.S conservatives that doesn't seem to be true. It's not always outright loud and proud racism but many at least have a lot of pretty ignorant views when it comes to racial issues. A large amount of my extended family is conservative and all the ones who are, are a little racist or at least say racist things.

What if your at a peaceful protest and it become a riot because the police decide they should start shooting rubber bullets at peoples faces? It happened in the city I live near. That said I was too afraid to go to any protests, because of the police brutalizing protestors.

I think this would depend on if the police give a warning to dispurse first and if that warning gives you enough time to run away and disperse.

Bull.

The right side of politics in Australia is still the side of religion, climate change denial, trickle down economics, anti-foreigner and racist sentiment and so on. Little more evidence is required for "Morality is more important than the facts" fits the rightwing than to look at the anti-gay marriage arguments that were being thrown around several years ago, where it would lead to bestiality and destroy families.

The conservative parties of Australia are the Liberal Party, Pauline Hanson's One Nation party, and Clive Palmer's United Australia Party. Especially considering the second and third, their stuff is super about embracing feelings and moral superiority, such an example is making out China to be a real scary threat that will invade the country if the Labor party managed to get in power. All their message is devoid of rationality and is feelings.

Are you claiming that the Left in Australia is not about rationality because they care about the environment and providing needed services, and also do not like the use of misleading facts? Which side of the political aisle has been taking the scientific recommendation of being more careful with COVID?

No, he was a fascist and fascism is right wing, that doesn't mean all right wingers are fascists but it is on the extreme end of the right spectrum. Hitler actually hated leftists and many of them were killed during his reign of terror.

Also, all societies have government suppression of certain things.
