Do you mean like a closet racist / sexist. Most people dont even have to try to not be racist or sexist
'Tribalism' is embedded in our genetic coding.

Nope, most of them don't even know they are so they don't try to hide it. Even if they learn to not say them, they still don't think they are. They only know what is called racist.
Is it like those embracing partisan politics aren't aware they are engaging in groupthink?

C'mon Peps, as a society we are transcending tribalism step by step. Conservatives want to preserve concepts such as race. Lefties don't.

It's a long read, from a time when things were much as you describe and appear to be headed back towards, or possibly beyond.
I agree, but 'I hasten to add', there is a much more even playing field than there used to be.
I really don't understand this 'Republicans and those who are objective are fascists/Nazis or fascist/Nazi apologists'.
Do those leaning to a more conservative political ideology do this?
I can't recall any expressing these views.
This cyclopean approach seems to be overwhelmingly coming from those on the left side of politics.
Prove me wrong.

The first 10 pages , that's all I could handle before my eyes went screwy , seemed to be a discussion about one member.
The basic theme was that at that time, there had been an exodus of members "not of the left", along with a large quantity of threads/posts built around a theory that anything "right wing" was automatically Nazi, and attacking them, resulting in:

Other groups of people.
While it is acceptable to attack and debate beliefs (political, religious etc) it is not acceptable to make generalised attacks on the adherents of those beliefs. It is acceptable to say that Republicanism, Liberalism, Christianity, Islam are stupid but not acceptable to make generalised attacks saying that Republicans, Liberals, Christians or Muslims are morons. You could say that some of these people are stupid because of (reason) but not make generalised attacks on groups of people. Similarly you could not say "Christians are morons" or "Muslims are terrorists" or "People on welfare are bums". Confine your attacks to the beliefs and politics, not the people holding them. The one exception to this is public figures themselves – by the very nature of their roles they are personally open to criticism.

I disagree. It is human nature to fear difference, and the unknown.
So we are all racist/sexist but the majority of people have great filters?
We'll just have to disagree on that then. I have no science to back up my claim , it's more of a gut feeling.

And yet, when something comes up in the news related to an incident between 2 people (or groups) of different races, it is those on the left who tend to focus on the race(s) of those involved, while others (Conservative and centrists) tend to focus on the actual events and facts regarding them - And are then accused of being racists because they were ignoring the race(s) of those involved...

There are some racists on the right of politics, yes.
But what about the feral left who want to drag society into an intellectual dystopia, devoid of individuality (ironically) and creativity, who governed using sanctimony and threatening Spanish Inquisition like punishment through left win media propaganda outlets?
cyberdude, you seem to be one of the people who see things in terms of: The left are all angels and the right are all daemons.
Please tell me it isn't so!

I follow you. So any generalised attacks against Liberals or Republicans is not allowed here , yet it still happens but most notably against Republicans. This is an admin issue not a member issue.
Off Topic

I said someone was an idiot because they were espousing anti-German racist nonsense, and, you guessed it, *I* was the one who got an official warning.
It was years ago, though.

That because we have laws Brictoria

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racial_Vi ... n_Act_1996
It's our civic duty to ensure people don't breach such laws and get away with it by saying that "I wasn't being racist because I don't believe in race" as a defence when their intention and belief was the opposite

Social conditioning, when children don't have the facility of rational thinking yet, 'brainwashes' most people into being civilised. It is not always long-lasting, and not every child is brought up in a moral/enlightened/deluded household.
Look what happened in Nazi Germany with the Hitler youth.
The Germans aren't inherently evil, despite German-hating Australian teacher biatches believing that.
It is *humanity* that is defective, not a particular ethnic group.

When you and I went to school in Australia the memory of WWII was still fresh in the minds of survivors who passed their hatred of the Japanese and Germans to their children (hence your teacher's bias), You probably may not realise the social ostracism experienced by Germans in South Australia for many years into the 1960s and 1970s.
Today that bias has vanished, the children and grandkids of german Australians are part of the mainstream. Nobody cares about that stuff anymore.

Yes.
*ALL* those embracing left-wing political dogma lack objectivity, are cyclopean and are incapable of rational thought.
*That* is an example of what *NOT* to post, btw.
But, yes, too many gross generalisations have been in evidence, of late.
I only hope that people are counselled in private, rather than the rule-breakers being ignored.
