For the record, any harm I might hypothetically wish on any WP poster would be entirely due to their extremely poor character or foolish ideas, not their immutable characteristics or where they're from. Definitely not fond of the Commonwealth countries though.

AsPartOfMe has been posting here for a very long time and I've never seen him say anything like that to anyone. It's not Dox47's style either, as far as I can tell.

In any case, bigoted remarks like that are against the rules here. If anyone here makes a bigoted remark like that to you, feel free to report it to the mods. I'll report it too if I see anyone make such a remark to you.


Post-9/11 islamophobia must have been an awful thing to have to deal with!

I've known people who weren't even Muslim who had really bad things happen to them because someone thought they were Muslim, or thought they were a terrorist for some really stupid reason such as having a beard.

My partner has often been told to "go back to your country," even though his ancestors have lived here for hundreds of years (he's a Mayflower descendant), but people ASSume he's an immigrant because he has a speech impairment, which gets mistaken for a foreign accent.

I'm sure the decade or so immediately after 9/11 was far worse for actual Muslim immigrants in many parts of the U.S.A., and probably in many other Western countries too. I'm very sorry you've had to deal with this.

"Fascism" is very clearly defined to everyone except for the fascists themselves, who resist the label for tactical reasons, namely that it's harder to criticize a nameless group. We've been over this many times.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who sees what's happening here. There's something horribly wrong with the culture of this site if the moderators will take a firm stance on "gRoOmErs" (trans woman here, I'm one of those scary groomers y'all are always hearing about), but will sit on their hands and watch an ESL speaker get bullied for being too literate. This website is gradually turning into /pol/ and no one's stopping it from happening.

It's apparently escaped your attention that this thread is in the Politics, Philosophy, and Religion forum.

I don't think that teachers are grooming any school students. I think that old-fashioned types want to groom people into fitting into tiny pink and blue boxes.

I'm not sure that's true, there's a lot of people working to ensure that never happens.

The sticky about grooming isn't related to transpeople, it's related to former users who were actively trying to manipulate vulnerable adult posters on this site.
