Wtf? People do this all the time whether you can accept this or not, if you don't believe me then go to a Fetish Ball or some other type of gathering, then tell me it doesn't happen.

Damn you might as well say that Nudism is only practised by a handful of ugly people over in Utah.

You know I just had a thought, maybe this isn't so much about whether or not it should be allowed but the fear that your Girlfriend (If you were lucky enough to get one) would go topless.

It's a myth that breasts are not sexualized outside the Western World. Even in African tribes where women go topless all the time, the breast is still seen as something sexually appealing. There's a difference between not sexualizing the breast and simply acknowledging its natural purpose.

Women going topless should not only be legal, it should be mandatory.

Well, fetish balls are fetish balls - you also have people with hooks going into their backs and crazy things like that. When you have people doing something in mass, as in everyone there is doing it, it means one particular woman in question going topless and covering herself in dyed sugar or something doesn't draw nearly the same effect when 20 other girls at the party are doing something similar and the guys either came in with them or came in with other guys - and as for the single guys, they're probably a bit more metrosexual than your typical redneck, wellfare recipient, or any middle-class variants of the same sorts of personalities. However, if its one woman by herself in a public place with all kinds of corrupted people with corrupted personalities and ethics around her - its a very serious risk to her safety.

Typically, the societies of the world that have stood around naked all day have gotten the least accomplished over the centuries in science, general industry, and in simply moving their culture forward over time, instead of letting it stagnate.

No man is going to be at his best mentally when there are topless women all around. Our society would crumble if all the women went topless.

This thread reminds me of a mock protest that a civic studies course at my high school did for an assignment. The woman teaching the course was a flower child herself. It was weird being in another classroom and hearing "Unite the Women! Burn the Bras!" in the hallway.

I wasn't in that class and, thus, didn't take part in the mock protest.

Well, if you do an internet search for images of boobies, you'll find a certain amount of variation in the relationship between boob and nipple size. But, the biggest areolas usually appear on the largest breasts.

My answer is no, except for the purposes of breastfeeding ( discreetly, like i did!), or in naturist/nudist parks/beaches, where people then know not to go if they are likely to be offended or disturbed.

I think that so long as breasts remain fetishised as they are in our society where most mothers do not breastfeed, ( most never breast feed, and of those that do the vast majority stop after the first few weeks,), compared to the relatively less loaded sexual attractiveness of them in countries where breastfeeding is still widely practised and consequently at least half associated with motherhood, rather than almost exclusively with sex as in our culture, bare breasts would indeed disturb. The very existence and use of the bra in itself is part of a potent sexualisation of breasts, and the "reservation" of breasts for sexual activity means that exposing them sends out actively inviting sexual signals.
If women were ever to return to widespread six-month-minimum breastfeeding on demand,( that is often in public ) then perhaps they could expose breasts around the place without disturbing the peace! .
If the women in this protest want to change the status of breasts that is what they need to change. Their role and function.

Although I'm a guy, I fantasize about what it would be like to strut around nude in public in ultra-conservative Wichita Falls, Texas (the town I live in).
