There is no emphasis on higher production.
That only works if you have unlimitted resources with easy and fast access.

That is why as i said earlier, P2P is the only socialist system that works.

what? :?

What motive do people have to work? In Capitalist countries, it is money. If everyone gets equal pay no matter what, then whats the point?
Is it right to pay janitors as much as doctors?

For the communal good, of course

Echo TheBladeRoden.
I often wonder what happens to all the claimed philanthropy, family values. progressive thought, christian principle and so on that we are told is the basis of many market economies. Will all these people take the huff and down tools if they are paid a social rather than a market wage? Is it right that we spend more on wagess of some football teams over a couple of weeks than we send to horrific disasters in aid?
I think if all these fine philosophies depend on wage level they are perhaps a bit lacking.
Anyway back to the topic. China will be next. Bill Gates is a bit foggy on the issue but you can catch the drift.

irishmic, that is interesting your article about the coup. It is similar to the situation in Venezuela at the moment. Venezuela is stronger though, and should be able to resist US sanctions.

Lets face it, the US are just glorified thugs, going around the world beating people up. They need to be stopped.

If the public were more aware of things like this, Bush would find it much more difficult to carry out his shoddy policies. He wouldn't get elected for a start, and even if he was, the UK public would not allow Blair to follow him like some lovesick puppy.

It neednt be a straight choice between communism and uber-capatilism though. There can be a middle ground. Social democracy as practised by countries like Norway is a step in the right direction. There will always be a need to pay more for the more skilled employments for things to work but that doesnt mean we should have old people who served us during the war dying of of hypothermia in the middle of the night because we allow them to be too poor to warm their humble flats.

In the long list of whats wrong with America, the largest group of top wage earners either work in some form of entertainment (sports, movies, music, television) or for multinational corporations. Comparatively, educators get paid very little. With that said, I wonder why I am a professional educator. Maybe it is because I feel that there are more important things in life then seeing how much material and fiscal resorces I can consume.

The idea that someone can be influenced by things that have no inherent value, only a socially contrived one, and will use that influence to purposefully induce suffering onto others, shows how asleep society really is. I'd like to think that people can do better.

Probably wont happen (though im not sure about it being too late?), but remember that one time we where all living in caves mocking anyone who said we'd all live in houses one day. The fact is that most right-wingers belong in caves anyway. Back my socialist revolution and i will make it happen.

For now, since people think of socialism as evil (usually) we should limit the revolution to simply restoring democracy, and leave socialism for now. That way, we'll get more support

The Aspie Diaspora will take over and rule the world. In an empire unequaled in splendor, grandeur, and...respect for human rights, in prosperity, and all of that stuff. The aspie ruling elite (drawn from every race and nation on the planet) will embrace a one time derogatory term for aspies...and call itself the "Geeks".

And this epoch civilization will be remembered by future generations after it as the "Golden Age of the Ancient Geeks".
