Hmm. If this is true, then he should not be president. Poorly educated morons do not belong in politics.

I don't know, those fanatical Jainists I'm sure would be rather rude considering how long they fast.

thinking a white-bread, christian senator from chicago could be a radical islamist threat is irrational.

No, it's simply thinking outside the box. And not very far outside, I might add.
Especially when he deeply befriended, financially supported, and voluntary sat and listened for 20 years to
Rev Jeremiah Wright, a man who praised and had dealings with Farrakhan, saying he "epitomized greatness".
Reverend Wright shouts "GOD DAMN AMERICA!! !" over and over, and we're not supposed to question??

My paltry list of Wright quotes makes him sound like an angel compared to the full story,
which I won't post here because it's easily available all over the internet.
He is a man absolutely chalk-full of hatred for white people, and hatred for America.
And he's gifted with great eloquence, so that his hatred articulated with crystal clarity,
and is therefore not able to be explained away, even by his supporters. The best they can do
is try, in vain, to simply cover up or deny his words, which he even proudly released on DVD!
The man is a classic study in out-and-out racism, and up until fairly recently, was Obama's
pastor, close friend, and spiritual advisor.

And what about the Christians that say "God Damn America" for laws that permit millions of abortions?? All the preachers that said that 9/11 and katrina were punishment for various sins - they are saying that God is damning America. Shouldn't we question their patriotism??

Martin Luther King once said that America was the greatest purveyor of violence in the world. That doesn't mean he wasn't a patriot. Slavery and Jim Crow and the free-fire zones set up over Vietnam were in fact massively violent institutions - their stain remains on the country today.

America is a complex thing - to say that one needs to love everything about it is simple-minded.

They're not running for president. They're not going to be your leader.

Obama is.
And he was buddy-buddy with a hatemonger for 20 years!
Are you still confused about why Americans are upset about this?

Also, he's close friends with Bill Ayers, an unrepentant, in fact proud terrorist bomber against the U.S. government.

Well, some things would be nice, especially in one who aspires to be its chief representative.
Obama's wife only recently -- with uncanny timing with Barack's candacy run -- became proud of America, she said.
How convenient! Or should I say, "expedient"?

No, but Obama (and millions of other Americans) look up to the legacy of MLK. And McCain (along with other Republicans) praised and sought out the endorsements of people that have said that God is Damning America for various reasons. So really, it is not about one side calling on the wrath of God to curse America - both sides have done it. It isn't about patriotism, it is about whether you get more upset about racism or abortion. It isn't that the left rejects America, it is that the left and right are struggling over different visions for America.

(Eyebrows: raised right back) Just like all your proof of Intellegent Design, I suppose  . If you had anything, you'd gleefully show it Ragtime.

You are also changing the subject. First you say that Obama might be an oh-so-scary Muslim, then the moment you start to lose you switch to a different tact. Either admit that you don't believe that Obama is secretly an evil islamic terrorist, or stay on topic.

Close friends? Please show proof. I sincely doubt that, and you have a poor record of supporting your assertions Ragtime. And you are changing the subject again.

I don't think he does, actually. Obama and his wife were mentored by Wright -- who is nothing like MLK -- and his hatemongering for 20 years, and they showed their appreciation for that hate-preaching by making many sizeable financial donations to Wright.

MLK was a great uniter, but Wright, and indeed Obama, are proving to be great dividers between blacks and whites.
In short, MLK would be ashamed of Obama, not to mention Wright.

How about the Obama campaign's statement that Obama and Ayers are friendly?
Are they proof enough for you?
I don't know, you tell me. Standards of "proof" around WP liberals shift all the time,
to anything they want them to be at the moment.

Any why would you need "proof" of a person's friendship, as if simply observing the obvious isn't enough.

What are you talking about? The topic is Obama, and he is multiple bad news.

if the observation is so easy then showing links between the two should be easy. no one here is going to take your word on anything because you lie or are just out and out wrong so often and you show no sense of responsibility to back up any claims you make.
