So you consider your fellow man to be vermin, as well? That makes total sense.

All of us are, to this planet at least ;)

Humans, cockroaches and rats tend to exceed their environment's carrying capacity.

You're human as well. You realize that, don't you?

All species will exceed their environment's carrying capacity, given the opportunity. In bountiful years more offspring will suvive than can be carried through in the following starvation years.

Humans have been able to dramatically exceed the planet's natural carrying capacity because we're using up the stored bounty of millenia (fossil fuels) to produce fertilizers and pesticides to grow more food than the planet would normally produce in a single year.

Abortion, however, is not the way to correct this problem. Birth control and female literacy (because female literacy is directly proportional to female willingness to use birth control) is.

Nah, we need a more Republican strategy. Build up our defenses, teach our kids how not to use condoms so that way they'll breed more, and wait for the Malthusian population wars.

I found that out after I tried to perform surgery on myself.

Biological systems are not generally described well by calculus. Even relatively stable populations in relatively simple environments, which may be roughly described by sinusoidal rises and falls, are routinely exceeding their carrying capacity (cc being described as the maximum population that can be supported by the environment at its normal seasonal extreme without damaging the environment in which they survive). The populations wouldn't fall again if they hadn't exceeded their carrying capacity on the rise. They also fall below the carrying capacity on the fall.

Sometimes I really hate women. *sigh* :(

I know what you mean, I feel bad because I hate women your not supposed to hate women but hey its life.

Anyways here is what I think

1.) In the case of rape taking frustration, and anger out on the unborn is horrible. The unborn child has done nothing wrong, but is being punished because of what the father did to the mother. Rape is traumatic you don't just get over it, it affects everything about you, the way you dress, what you eat, what you watch on TV, how you think and so on. So with that being said it seems a bit crazy to me at least to let someone who has been traumatized in such a horrible way get an abortion when they are not thinking "normal".

2.) The father should always have a say in a pregnancy unless, he raped the mother or if it was something like a one night stand, or if he is very irresponsible.

3.) I can accept abortion if there is no chance of either A.) the is going to die when they are born, B.) have almost no intelligence and it won't get better, C.) the child is going to be sick, or suffer more than anyone should no matter what is done, D.) the mother is going to die if the abortion is not done or the mother's body or mind will be permanently damage in traumatic way.

4.) I don't think enough support is given to any pregnant woman. I think that at least some women have abortions because pregnancy is hell on steroids and they are getting overwhelmed because they are not getting the help and support that they deserve.

5.) I think abortion is a last resort that should not be taken lightly.

The father should have a say?? What the heck? It is his daughters body and only her choice, HERS ONLY. The father should mind his own business and not force his views on her in such an important decisions. If the father does get involved, his daughter AND her councellors should tell the father to f*** off and let his daughter make this decision by herself. It is after all she who is going to have the scar from either keeping the child or aborting it, so it should be HER decision and HER DECISION ONLY. The parents should have no say in it, they dont even have the right to put pressure on her in such important decisions.

I am a man yes, but one who tries to approach every situation rationally and who tries to always treat women with the utmost respect. In cases like this, having a child or not having it, it is only logical that the woman has the right to decide what happens with her own body. This is not a feminist point of view, but simple ratio, so I as a masculin person cannot draw any other conclusion because of what my rational thoughts dictate me.

I am a man yes, but must say I feel emotionally closer related to women than to other men. The stereotypical masculin image and behaviour dont do it to me, I never believed in gender stereotypes but the "typical man" attitude is not my cup of tea anyway. Characterwise I always matched a lot better with women.

I dont see what this has to do with my gender though as even in this topic alone I am clearly not the only masculin person who takes a pro-abortion opinion,

CP, I think he meant 'the father of the fetus,' not 'the father of the mother.'

When we develop a surgery that can take a fetus from a woman's uterus and transfer it to the father's abdomen, where it can grow until it's 9 months old and then be removed by cesarian. It's up to the women who carry the fetus to decide if they want to continue the pregnancy, and until then 'no' will always mean fetal death.

So when a father rapes his 12 year old daughter and she gets pregnant, that's God's will (a la Lot's daughters)?

Good to know. God approves of incest. Yet another reason not to follow twisted middle-eastern monotheisms.

You aren't reading this discussion or your Bible. God said in the Book of Deuteronomy that if a woman is raped by a man inside the city and does not cry out, she is to be put to death. It doesn't matter if she is pregnant - she is a source of evil, and she and her unborn child must be killed. Your modern ideas about 'Life' are in contradiction to the Word of God.
