Funny, most religion bashers tend to target LCD illiterate Bible thumpers rather than real religious traditions. Are you sure you don't, deep down, actually hate the religious people?
That's because LCD illiterate Bible thumpers are the only ones that go around shoving their "faith" onto other people who didn't even ask for the subject to be brought up. Most people who actually follow the religion (as opposed to just yelling at other people for not following the religion) don't tend to show up on other peoples' radar...
So in other words, it
is the people, not the religion

It is certain people within the religion, but not
all people...

Religion should not be targeted as such. Rather dogma and imposed ignorance should be targeted. People should be educated into becoming rational, anti-dogmatic and self-confident citizens. If that can be achieved, then sectarian and fundamentalist ideologies will automatically wither.
The problem is that some people believe in the "us and them" ideology (and I'm not talking about the Pink Floyd song) that they tend towards the extreme to make themselves feel like they're part of a select few that get a reward while people who don't think like them are automatically receiving punishment...
