in the pole for marijuana rights, a resounding 81% voted that yes, it should be legal in one form or another.

That is a staggering figure.

The conservatives are in power right now. When and if they all die, i could see it getting legalized easy.

Namoken,

You won't die.

If i were to read and believe everything in the marijuana rights thread, then when it DOES become legal, it will be utilized and syudied; subsequently turning into a miracle drug. We will all live forever as a result. In peace and harmony. We will have invented the most comfortably couches and invent instant munchie munchers.

The point that i didn't say was that conservatives never ALL die off.

I've said this before and I'll say it again: I want marijuana to be legalized, but am against the idea of people using it recreationally. I just think that making it legal will actually make it HARDER to get (obviously there will be a legal age minimum, for example, and why deal pot on the black market when you can buy it in a store), and also, we can tax it! There's other underlying social issues that would kind of benifit too (it would screw up the harder drug market to my understanding though I'm not sure of the exact statistics of how). So pro-legalization doesn't mean pro-pot. ((I can kind of back this up more eloquently but I can't be bother to on this forum as that woudl be work and I'm tired. This is the bare bones.))

I'd like to see it legalized totally one day, and then stay off the roads for a couple of weeks, and let evolution take its course.

81% in favor. So much for democracy.

We have several members from the Netherlands. Perhaps they could share what it's like to live in a socially enlightened country that regulates addictive drug use....

There's a difference between legalization and decriminalization. If it's just decriminalized, then you can hand out tickets for possession. It makes them money.

What kind of poll was it? Many polls are not scientifically accurate and are, therefore, not an accurate sampling of the population at large. The people running the poll could have made it so that most of the groups they knew wanted marijuana to be legal could vote and not many that believe it shouldn't. Before you trust polls like this one (there's hardly any information avaliable), check the source and how many people they sampled.

I think he's referring to the poll on this forum.
