I don't really hate Christmas. This is the best season. But, sometimes I still hate it.

I don't hate Christmas, but I feel that it's been too commercialized an that it's original message has been neglected by the majority who engage in their annual shopping-mad ritual.

Last night I learned: The only kinds of humans that can stand Christmas are children and drunks. When a teen I made the unfortunate decision I shall never drink and nowadays I have so many neurons that I am unable to do something as stupid as drinking, so screw you christmas. Gifts are ok, but my self-gifts are better and I don't have to wait for a specific date to open them. So I will probably not celebrate this thing once I reach independence.

Possibly because you are still (only just) a kid and the attention is focused around you. Heads up; this might well be the last year that this is true

For many folks the time of the Winter Solstice is a miserable time. Seasonal Affective Disorder abounds and the rate of suicide goes up.

It is one of the infelicities of nature that the axis of rotation is tilted significantly from the vertical. A better world would be spring (or fall) every day in the temperate zones. Twelve hours of daylight, twelve hours of darkness every day 365.25 days a year.
