In the past, the Constitution has served America well, but over the past few decades, liberal elements have corrupted its meaning and infected the Republic with subversive ideas. Here is a modest proposal to restore glorious Freedom to true Americans:

• Hold a new constitutional convention to establish this political system:
• Freedom of speech
  
  • Freedom of speech is a good—when used appropriately to discuss the relative merits of a purchase or to talk about The Big Game, for example.
  • Sometimes freedom of speech is taken too far to mean radical and subversive ideas treasonous to the American Republic. Such speech should be forbidden.
• Freedom of religion and conscience
  
  • Especially in recent times, we've seen our Christian nation fall prey to dangerous secularists, atheist militants, and heathenous barbarians from overseas.
  • Therefore freedom of religion means an individual has choice to belong to one of an improved Christian churches: the Southern Baptist Convention, Methodists, Presbyterians, Episcopalians (those that don't ordain women or the gays), the Eastern Orthodox Church, and the Catholic Church if they can be assured not to take marching orders from Rome.
  • The Jew may be allowed to practice their faith so long as they offer their vast fortunes in service of the nation's glory.
  • Islam and other terroristic cults are to be abolished.
  • Heathens shall be converted to the Cross at the sword.
  • Patriotic Americanism shall be the only permitted political ideology.
• The Board of Directors
  
  • The Board of Directors replaces Congress and the Supreme Court.
  • Directors are elected to the Board democratically by the Fortune 1000 corporations and the most significant Christian denominations in proportion to their wealth and membership.
  • The Board of Directors shall be directly responsible to its shareholders and has a fiduciary duty to turn a profit for them.
• The Presidency
  
  • The President is appointed to serve for life.
  • The President has power to declare martial law.
  • The President, as Command-in-Chief, has full command of the armed services and has sole discretion in declaring war, both foreign and domestic.
• The Party
  
  • The Republican Party is established as the sole legitimate expression of political organization.
  • The penalty for fidelity to liberal, socialist, or other communistic ideas is death.
  • Former members of the Democrat Party, Greens, and others of a non-conservative bent are to be purged.
• Focus on the family
  
  • The family is the cornerstone of any functional nation.
  • So marriage is defined as between one man and one woman.
  • Homosexuals, fornicators, and adulterers are to be stoned to death.
  • Deviant sexuality of all other sorts is to be punished by death.
  • Divorce is forbidden.
  • The woman has a duty as mother, wife, and homemaker. She keeps our nation's men healthy and strong.
• Glorious empire
  
  • Being God's Promised Land, America has a duty to expand to her natural boundaries: the whole of the Western Hemisphere.
  • America shall withdraw from the United Nations and other limp-wristed liberal institutions that seek international consensus and peace above national sovereignty and the glories of empire!
  • The Latin American countries shall learn WASP culture and the English language.
  • America shall colonize the Middle East, starting by making its occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan permanent. Next is Iran.
  • China must be stopped. Smuggling opium into their cities may stunt the productivity of their workforce. The opium can be supplied from Afghanistan.
• Protect American culture!
  
  • Only English may be spoken or written, both in public and in private. Books and other resources in languages other than English shall be burned.
  • Immigration shall be restricted to the bare minimum needed to perform menial labor, and these guestworkers will never be provided with citizenship or permanent residency. They will, however, be obligated to speak English and learn American ways.
  • Deviant subcultures, entertainments, and liberal media shall be suppressed.
• Brother for brother
  
  • Americans shall be paid a stipend to inform on unpatriotic family members, friends, coworkers, and employees.
  • All are brother and sister in this great American nation; therefore other loyalties must not be put first.

The Teabaggers should present at once this manifesto to the public at the Teabaggers' Convention.

Why is it that so many conservatives think they have all the answers and can solve all of the problems if they were able to get rid of liberals? Got news for you pal, ain't never going to happen.

Talk about destroying the constitution, that's exactly what you are suggesting. Madison, Jefferson, Addams (Sam, John, John Jr), Franklin, et al would be outraged at your suggestions to undermine their hard work.

Get it through your CONservative heads, the founding fathers set this country up to be a SECULAR nation whether you like it or not!

CONservatives have done plenty of damage to this country over the years so stop blaming the liberals for it.

You're illustrating that you aren't FOR liberty as you're wanting to take it away from others. Talk about un-American.

Yep that sounds pretty american.

It's America as seen through the eyes of the Tea Party conservative. Probably many of them would establish a fascist state similar to what I described above if they thought they could. The Right means an entirely different thing when they talk of freedom than the Left or even what the average person thinks.

If the Americans of 100 years ago could see America today, most of them would be amazed. They’d be amazed that the European-derived people who built the country were on the verge of becoming a minority, replaced demographically by Third-worlders, subjected to the disporportionate influence of a hostile jewish elite and actively discriminated against via affirmative action quotas.

Many white conservatives of the 50s and 60s could see the way things were going, but even then a great many white people had begun to believe that sticking up for their own kind was ‘hate’. So many of these conservatives started talking in code about stuff like socialism (eg, transfer of wealth from whites to blacks) and patriotism and all the rest of it.

Eventually, many ‘conservatives’ began to believe their own marketing, and conservatism moved ever further leftwards (for want of a better term) along with the rest of the political landscape. Not that this makes much difference to some people; even an open-borders liberal like Sarah Palin gets portrayed as a right-wing racist hatemonger just for being white and Republican. So what chance do the Tea-Baggers have? They can talk about socialism and taxes and liberty and the constitution (and unlike the conservatives of the 50s, most of them probably mean it) but they’ll still be called racists and fascists and all the rest of it.

You laugh at Tea-Baggers now for their alarmism. Perhaps one day you will chide them for having been too soft. Perhaps ... who knows.

Btw, equating being a ‘patriotic American’ with supporting wars in the Middle East against Israel’s enemies is a characteristic of neoconservatism, not Tea-Bagger conservatism, which is not really the same thing.

Yes they would. I imagine they might say something along the lines of "Holy s**t, airplanes!" Or perhaps they would be more impressed by the Internet, the prevalence of home computers, the fact that the typical middle-class family has a car or two, the eradication of most common diseases, or any number of other advances.

No, if anything, "racist" is pretty much a code for white. I don't see why using tactical language to persuade a group to defend its own interests is any worse than using tactical language to prevent a group from defending its own interests.

I think affirmative action is bad policy, and I haven't changed my stance on that. But saying that it is "active discrimination" is just false. And there are no "quotas," those were struck down by the courts years ago. It's one thing to make the (accurate) statement that affirmative action is stupid, counterproductive, and unfair. It is quite another to make claims that are simply factually incorrect.

Keep telling yourself that, codarac. Never mind that most white people (myself included) are not called racists. We just aren't "real" white people, right?
