In the last couple of years, the Jewish colonists in the West Bank have described a "price tag" policy to punish Palestinians for any Israeli official action against their illegal outposts, according to the Israeli authorities. So on many occasions, when the Israelis dismantled an outpost, the colonists would attack Palestinian property, destroy crops, and attack people generally with impunity.
Now, after the Israeli courts have ordered the evacuation of a seven-storey illegal structure set up by Jewish colonists honouring that spy who helped send U.S. nuclear secrets to the Soviet Union, the mayor says he will evacuate this and in return will knock down 200 Palestinian homes in the neighbourhood.
