The alliance of the American government should stand by this country; during these hard times for the united states. The united states stand side by side different countries, as a simple favor the American government ask if the rest of the world would do the same for us now.

That's basically how it already works. Did you miss taking history in school?

Yes. We stood by them in their hours of need(i.e WWI WWII) It's a shame that so many people today are taught to hate this country, especially here in America itself.

Like the way the USA wrecked Iraq for no rational reason after there were worldwide protests against Bush's unprovoked attack? You really do need a lot of reading about US history.

Some countries do stand by the United States, others don't.

In some cases this goes to the level of the United Nations where about 200 countries or so vote on a particular topic.

There are some countries which will never stand with the United States such as countries which are essentially theocracies such as Saudi Arabia (Islam), Egypt (Islam), and the Vatican (Italian Catholicism).

Some countries have it as their mission to take over the United States, throw out the president from the White House, and replace the president with a theologian.

Why should any country stand by our side? We've done most of the terrorizing around the world. I'm afraid it's a little too late for us to gain the respect we once had.

Other than that yes the times are hard, I wish americans would stop scapegoating eachother DO something about it. I'm getting really sick and tired of all the hate and blaming. It ceases to amaze me when people sit on their ass and whine about how horrible those liberals are and what a horrible president we have. Be great if there were more innovations and ideas about how we can change the intricacies in both our political and economic policies in our government but no that would require some effort and work.

Well, let's consider these, "hard times."

The financial crisis? The financial crisis is down to two things: derivatives and housing. When banks in the United States started extending mortgages to 125% of the value of a house to NINJAs (no income, no job applicants), and then sliced and diced those subprime instruments and sold them off to oversease interests, the United States was pretty much exporting a problem that it created on its own. (And the UK is not blameless either).

The "war on terror?" Well, NATO is there with you in Afghanistan. In fact Canada is creating the "secure doughnut" around Kandahar for you.

The Iraq folly? Well, there might have been a more compelling case to stand by you if the WMDs had ever shown up.

In all seriousness, though, perhaps the United States became less didactic in its foreign policy, it might find a more receptive audience.
