Of course there are going to be Anarchists here... We're aspies... and by definition anti-social. If you're not anarchist you gotta be lying to yourself
Lemme get my cookbook out and we can make dinner and talk about it all night long
But seriously, there is no form of stable government that provides ultimate freedom.
We've had our discussion about free will, you and I, AG, so lets not get into that again, but I yearn for the greatest of all freedoms. I want to be the decider of my life. If I let someone else make a decision for me, I want it to be because I PERSONALLY let them. not because some "majority" which probably didn't include me, gave them veto power to do so. Even if that majority includes me, how can i chose one of 4 (in canada, 2 in the US, more or less around that number of viable alternatives in most countries) people/parties and expect them to allow me to do exactly what I want? No there has to be compromise on everything, everywhere so as to satisfy everyone.
What's wrong with compromise... at some levels nothing.. at other levels EVERYTHING.
compromise has it's place.
But I wish only to make one compromise.
I won't do anything to limit your freedom.... That's all the compromise i'll give you.
and I bloody well expect the same back.
If i could step out of society... (more realistically... society just step out.. implode, destroy itself, etc) Then i wouldn't even need that compromise. I'd be happy with "if you limit my freedoms, you're gonna get it right back at you, and harsher... one of us will win, and one will lose"
Of course... that's not the way things are.
So... i just sit quietly dreaming of the day when it can be like that, and I can pack up what i can carry, and what still has value, after society's fall, and go where the civil war won't bother me, and start my own life, by myself or with others of like mind.
Until then, i'll periodically rant and rave about such things... but for the most part i'll just do my best to push society along what i perceive to be the shortest road to that end.... While maintaining as much freedom as I can manage day to day.
