I, Awesomelyglorious, officially call out Orwell to convert from his heretical "theism" to the rich and grand culture and society of atheism. I do this because it is STRIDENT, and because I can conceivably get away with it.

Orwell, as so many of my kin have pointed out, you truly belong among us. As so many Christians respecting the fundamentals have suggested, you belong among us as well. Because of that, I STRIDENTLY think you should really consider this.

Orwell, as you likely know, people are crazy. The problem is that your recognition that people are crazy doesn't mean that you aren't. In fact, as luck might have it, you probably are as well. Your disease, theism, likely is an outgrowth of this problem. Think about it: if people are sufficiently crazy to believe in UFOs, Zeus, and see the Virgin Mary on grilled cheese sandwiches, don't you think you could be crazy enough to be a theist for bad reasons? You yourself have to admit that if someone held to something for illegitimate reasons, you would call them out on it, so shouldn't we STRIDENTLY question you on the matter?

Even further, converting does not mean you have to give up Jesus, but rather, we have developed a patch just for Christians. It is called Christian Atheism. It will allow you to combat your addiction until you overcome it, and you STRIDENTLY feel the liberty of reason.

No other atheist has been so STRIDENT as to start a thread about this, not even Dent. And umm.... I also put up a poll.... STRIDENTLY.

This is part of the Awesomelyglorious initiative to do stuff and to STRIDENTLY do other things. Do people actually read this?

Of course, after all, George Orwell wrote the book 1984, which means that this Orwell MUST worship the state.

Also, is it a bad thing that whenever I read my OP, all I see is the word STRIDENT?

My vote is, "Is this actually our business? Are you just bored, AG?". Particularly the second part, "Are you just bored, AG?" as I consider it noble to be concerned about the eternal welfare of another and hence do not agree with the first part.

And you continue your monstrousness! :P

That being said, given exactly how ridiculous my approach is, I kind of wonder how popular this option as well as some of the joke options will be.

"Yes, to REAL Christianity" - does that mean conservative Christianity, such as the baptist church?

Well, duh. We all know that "liberal" is just a synonym for fake. :P

Although, if it is a KJV bible church, then even better. :P

Ok, well, convertion towards atheism or towards this, it seems that towards atheism could be easier. Orwell is already an Evolutionist, very close towards Atheism :P

As John Woodmorappe points out about Ken Miller: "Miller’s views on the origins of the universe and of life are, theological rhetoric aside, indistinguishable from those of the hardcore atheist.". I think the same would be said for Orwell, which obviously means he must be a closet atheist already.

Yes, because obviously anyone who disagrees with any given fundie lunatic on the slightest issue is secretly a hard-core atheist.

Wishful thinking on his part?

Well, duh! I am glad you recognize that. Have you now accepted the light of reason? Or have you given up evolution?

Since I do not intend to be either, the question is moot, but I'm fairly certain there has never been an atheist YEC. Unless maybe ruveyn alters his alien timeline.
