and the conditions under which he was elected are suspect....i'd say it's less democratic than russia (or most of the soviet union) but more democratic than hussein-era iraq.

What do you expect him to say? Eighty percent of Iran's export income is in the form of petroleum. Of course they are happy.

The U.S. exports a great deal of soy beans. If the price of soy goes way up would you expect the U.S. President to regard such a development as bad news?

No what he is doing is shoving the price increases in peoples faces and basically saying hahah.
