Why are they still publishing that stuff under their real names? That's just plain stupid.

Kindergarten kid A: You know what really ticks me off?
Kindergarten kid B: No, what?
Kindergarten kid A: When some idiot spits in someones milk.
Kindergarten kid B: Oh. What would you do if someone spat in your milk?
Kindergarten kid A: I'd punch him in the eye.
Kindergarten kid B: Ah.

Kindergarten kid B spits in Kindergarten kid A's milk.

Kindergarten kid A punches Kindergarten kid B in the eye.

And they all lived happily ever after. (I think)

Tomorrow is go poke a bear with a stick day.
If you have never tried this before, it is recommended that you use a fairly long stick and wear good running shoes.

All of this is an extension of the Spanish Inquisition - Draw a picture of the Pope of Italy as a fraud and die.

It's a serious problem when threats are made to American cartoonists. Problem is the USA may drag its feet vs deport those behind the death threats back to a foreign country - like Saudi Arabia (Mecca).

Apparently the country of France passed a law (2010) where women in France may not publicly wear Islamic veils and try to move France back to the Middle Ages/the Dark Ages/even further back in time than that. The country of Switzerland (about 2009) put a moratorium on the building of Islamic mosques due to a similar concern that Islam, like Italian Catholicism and Mormonism, are political parties.

The fact that the US government (the US Supreme Court) gives the people behind these death threats non-profit, tax-exempt status is beyond understanding. Apparently the USA is afraid to confront extremist religious politicians such as the Pope of Italy (child crimes) or an Iman from Saudi Arabia who issues fatwahs (death threats).

About burning Harry Potter books, the Koran, and phone books:

FBI urges U.S. Mohammed cartoonist to go into hiding (2010) (Reuters)

Sad day in America when the FBI asks an American cartoonist to hide out in America to be safe from the child crime hiding Pope of Rome or the fatwah issuing Imans from Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

Can't the FBI do a little better job?

The FBI is now telling the American cartoonist the same thing it told the Christian minister/Harry Potter books/Koran book/telephone books/whatever (would be) burner in Florida.

Seems like an overreaction to me, a gun and a good alarm system would cost a lot less than going into hiding, plus it wouldn't give the a**holes the satisfaction.

Yes, agree.

The idea of an American cartoonist having to change her occupation, her name, and go into hiding in the USA seems rather extreme to me too. It also provides comfort to the terrorists since it's a signal the cartoonist is now fearful and scared. Is the FBI going to pay the bill for all of this identity change? For how long? 1 month? 1 year? 10 years? 50 years?

Also, will the USA newspaper decide to run only favorable articles about Islam from now on? Favorable cartoons?

Will the USA newspaper decide to portray Osama bin Laden as a hero rather than a villain to reduce retaliation from terrorists who go after USA cartoonists?

It seems to me like the advice being given the cartoonist is wrong as the advice is giving an advantage to the terrorists.

Also, how can the US Supreme Court continue to give Islam non-profit, tax-exempt status when it threatens the life of an American cartoonist?

What would Monty Python say?

At least the US Supreme Court could make Islam a for profit religion and have to pay taxes and fees for killing innocent American cartoonists at random so to speak.

This. A friend of mine participated, and received a death threat online, no repercussion is expected.

Can one own 'a gun in all US states?
Anyway, in Europe you can't. That's why europeans feel unsafe, imo.

Yes. However, exactly what is allowed in what state can vary a little. A few states require a license to own a handgun and in most states you can get a license to carry a concealed handgun.

This is stupid on multiple levels.

1. "Muslim" extremists are stupid for threatening to kill/killing people over drawings. Doing so tarnishes the image of Islam far more than any cartoon ever would.

2. This lady was stupid as she obviously didn't know what she was getting herself into, and given the previous controversy with the Danish cartoons, and Southpark, she should have. Of course unless this is a very elaborate plot to get away from creditors, then she is quite smart.

Didn't this cartoonist say that the fake poster they made (which started this event off in the first place) wasen't meant to be a real event, just a one-time gag? And then proceed to make clear that they didn't support the event?

TBH, though, it's not hard to see why people are so quick to not be sympathetic with the Muslims when the extremists - who are in the minority - act like this.
