Is anyone thinking about attending?
They say they'll have free buses coming from all over,
but they're not well organized. (Just google "10 2 10" rally.)

It would be a nice way to meet up with some of you guys.

I probably won't be attending, because large crowds are a major trigger for my social anxiety. Sounds like an amazing event, though.

Skipping this one in favor of the 10-30 rally.

Had it not been my mother's birthday on Saturday, and having a bunch of other stuff going on in future weekends - I might have more strongly considered it.

I believe Quartz11 was referring to Jon Stewart's "Rally to Restore Sanity" and/or Steven Colbert's "March to Keep Fear Alive," both of which are scheduled for October 30th. (I would provide links to the websites for both those rallies, but I'm not allowed to post links yet. Sorry.)

And I came here looking for an intelligent conversation. (sigh.)

What's so unintelligent about the discussion we've been having thus far?

I think it's more of a lack of any serious discussion on 10-2 itself.

Personally, I find no reason to be opposed to it. I hope something positive can come from all this effort, and hope there's a significant turnout. However, just holding a rally of people who are predominantly progressive and attentive towards the political scene still doesn't really do anything.

We need a fundamental change in the political scene, and this rally won't do a thing. Then again I'm also a pessimist, cynic, and misanthrope - so my thoughts on how much good this rally can do might be skewed.

Sorry. "Intelligent" was the wrong word. I meant "serious."
Then again, comedy is a way of making a political statement. Probably the most effective way.
I'm just having a hard time finding anything humorous with the way things are going.

Much of the political scene nowadays is a joke on itself.

No bigger example comes to mind than Christine O'Donnell

lmao @ this rally

there is like 5-8k there max and they're claiming more than Glenn Beck. What an embarrassment. Surprised MSNBC hasn't claimed that millions are there.

MSN and the rest of the corporate-controlled media are unlikely to mention it at all,
and will certainly not say anything positive about it.
Do you have any idea of the kind of s**t we're in?
Other that ridiculing someone who's trying to do something positive, what are you doing?

Voting November 2nd. All I can do.

CSPAN was apparently using a photo from Glen Beck's rally on their website lol.

I only hope the 90% of males who oppose her stance on masturbation (at least in deeds) turn out for the election.
