It just occurred to me that Nancy Pelosi is two heartbeats away from being President of the United States.

That is a scary thought.

John Boehner will be taking that honor come this January.

Rumor is that Pelosi is going to retire if the dems lose the house.

What is the deal with this Pelosi?

Please enlighten this foreigner. I have been reading about her from different sources but they are conflicting, even though she's obviously a very controversial person in the US.

Bullet points will be nice :D

For starters, she is loony as hell and she has been known to come up with some really weird "facts" and bizarre statements. While I cannot prove it, I suspect she hallucinates.

As for her political views, she is extremely far left even by San Francisco standards, which makes her a favorite target for the far right to attack.

Pelosi apparently has not read the U.S. Constitution. The powers of congress are clearly listed in Article I. She seems unaware that there are laws Congress is not empowered to pass.

Aside from that, her view are hard and far left in the American political scale. A creature such as Crazy Nancy would not be considered strange in Europe but in the U.S. she is truly "around the bend".

Yes those are some scary generalizations. Is there anything more specific like her particular policies or statements?

I disagree. America, no matter how flawed, is still currently the bastion of Western civilization. Europe is pretty much going to the gutters.

America is only reason my old country hasn't been occupied up by the Communists, who will rip away every little ounce of liberty we finally achieved for the past decade.

They'll also continue to ask for help when in times of need. I wonder how many people have "friends" like that and think it's okay to treat them that way.

[mocking voice]

That's Bob over there, why he's a moron and everyday I shake my head at his stupidity. But I'll be damned, he was there when I needed him ... such a good friend, accepting my scorn but dutifully helping out when the opportunity arises.

Bloody heck just how far to the right is America. That Pelosi lacks credibility is one thing, to suggest that she is left wing even worse 'extremely so', displays a serious misunderstanding of the concept of socialism. The idea that Pelosi somehow resembles a left wing radical let alone a true socialist is akin to suggesting that Dawkins is a creationist because he accepts the possibility that God may exist.

Quite seriously Mr Browning, if you really want to defend your land from the 'red peril' you need to learn who they actually are, because one thing is for certain Obama, Pelosi and their ilk are most definitely on your side of politics, albeit a little more subtly.

And here we have another who has absolutely no idea about communism or the state of his own country, and its effect upon many parts of the world

I'll excuse your ignorance, for I assume you are a born Westerner who wouldn't have the slightest idea what it's like coming from a non-Western part of the world, where democracy and freedom of speech were unheard of 20 years ago thanks to foreign occupation. But even now we having missiles hanging over our heads, while the Commie-funded fifth column runs rampage throughout our society.

I am very thankful for the West, much more so than most Westerners I know of, I dare say.

Conservatives hate her since she is one of the few Democrats in Washington who will get things done.

Since North Korea is the obvious state currently under communism (China hardly fits that anymore) I am surprised you have internet access.

I got the impression from his posts that the communist occupation of his nation was a past event, not a current one. Not North Korea.

I agree, but the cold war is long over and I wonder what kind of oppressive pressure a communist fifth column can exert.
