Republicans have not slain the Beast. They have managed to keep it locked up in the cellar (maybe) for the next two years.

What do you mean? I've heard that the Republicans beat Obama in the mid-term elections, but you don't think Obama will be re-elected in 2 years time do you?

If the Republicans screw up the next two years as badly as they did during the late and unlamented Bush administration they will be toast in 2012. This does not necessarily mean Obama will win in 2012. Conceivably Hillary Clinton could be the Democratic candidate in 2012.

It all depends on how well or badly the Republicans use their midterm victory.

Hate to tell you this but a recent poll had more people wanting Bush back in office than wanted Obama being President. At least Bush didn't consider the American people to be his enemy.

Not quite. This mid-term was a bloodbath for the Democrats. And Bush actually gained seats in Congress in 2002 (mostly by playing on fear of terrorism).

The only important word in the phrase 'opinion poll' is the first one. I just took a poll and 100% of participants think that Bush is a douchebag. Does this make it so?

Yea, this one is pretty historic. The largest gain since 1948 and the largest for the GOP since 1938. This was bigger than 1994.

Odds are your examples are probably quotes taken out of context (often deliberately).

Such as the one about Bill O'Reilly being called an islamophobe for pointing out that the terrorists that flew into the World Trade Center happened to muslim which is a fact. He's said on numerous occassions that the moderate muslims need to stand up and denounce the fanatics. He's also stated that the overwhelming majority of Muslims are not psycho lunatics.

Though of course people took parts of what he said without the other items he said before and after that little snippet to try to make him sound like a bigot.

Quite frankly I can find a lot better examples of bigotry from source that receives Tax Payer funding. Heck, Jesse Jackson and I agree on the bigotry in the case I'm mentioning.

Also the reason the media was afraid to post anti-Bush stories in 2002 was because TIME released a certain story that hit the shelves on 9/11/2001 that caused the overwhelming majority of Americans that saw it to go ballistic after what happened that day. That scared left-leaning news agencies big time.

Oh I get it, I was waiting for actual examples of elected republican politicians saying derogatory things in a literal sense.
Stupid me, I should have been thinking of what would constitute hate and intolerance in the eyes of a liberal.

For example:
A republican senator is not rabidly against the war on terror so he is deemed as one who is calling for the total extermination of all Islamics.

A republican governor wants to institute, through legislative process, a work program for welfare recipients so he is therefore against blacks since that’s where the bigger percentage of welfare money goes to in his state.

I could come up with more examples but I think I’m on the right track.
