Good one :)

I think the US media has a huge chuck of responsibility. The American media was once a standard of insight, investigation and independence. It was a power. It was one of the thing that made "America Great" in the eyes of the world. With the flow of news increasing since the 80's, the most relevant news and analysis got slowly buried in the tickers.
Real time got it all and there is no need now to think a piece of information before posting it, the big new idea is: you have to be the first to post it. Since the end of the 90's, Internet has lowered the marginal cost of an information to the minimum and has amplified this effect on mainstream media

Now the media has become a caricature, picking the most unusual news and putting them on the front page. These news strike and sell. The following attempts of in-depth analysis become comical. Politics use them, Economy use them, And even the satire is resigned to use direct quotes in their cartoons. Today it seems that America is great, because it's the God's chosen country :D

I think the good information reporting in still somewhere, I find it sometimes and I am struck by their quality, for me the US has still the lead in the news reporting and analysis, it is just buried.

U.S. media became "big time" with William Randolph Hearst. Except for some brief but brilliant flashes of excellence (for example Edward Morrow) the American press and other media is rank with corruption and lust for profit not justified by the quality of the product.

jen sorensen has been at it for some time, now, and i'm usually a big fan.

that comic is a pretty good illustration of how a lot of liberal americans feel about post-election media coverage.

I'm sure they felt the only decent coverage came from the collection of Left-Wing Talking heads like Keith Olberman at MSNBC.

where do you get your news again, inuyasha? other than fox and drudge?

also: do you disagree with anything the guy shooting fire out of his mouth is saying in that comic?

Well for starters I consider liberals know so much that just isn't so. I don't view all liberals as evil.

Anyways CNN and Fox News handled themselves professionally on election night; MSNBC just had a panel of all their liberal commentators.

nonanswer and evasion. an excellent response.

i think PZMyers thoughts on this comic made a great point that you help to illustrate:

PZMyers wrote:
"Maybe it would help if pundits stopped reacting to everyone who criticizes the wimp on the left as if they were the firebreathing freak on the right."

If you want to get a list of where else I get news stories from, they include: CNN, AP, Reuters, Telegraph, Hotair, and I occasionally check politico.
