Your reaction to the Crystal Cathedral either declaring bankruptcy or being on the verge of declaring bankruptcy? Ever wonder why Dr. Robert Schuller didn't phone the Crystal Cathedral Prayer Tower to ask for prayer/Divine Intercession for the Crystal Cathedral to avoid bankruptcy Some might want to blame this all on the Bush, Jr. presidency. While it is true that for a short period of time the Bush, Jr. Texas Methodist Republican White House was hostile to the Crystal Cathedral (the Bush, Jr. Texas Methodist Republican White House would not let the US prison systems/libraries purchase Schuller's books), the Bush, Jr. policy of badmouthing the Crystal Cathedral was later reversed (due to public pressure).

A phony baloney church made mostly of glass panes, and located in Garden Grove, Ca. It was founded and funded by Robert H. Schuller, a protestant minister of questionable ethical integrity.

What? Questionable ethical integrity compared to churches which burn heretics at the stake and do Spanish Inquisitions?

a church [house] only has to be where you are at. anything more is just gilding the lilly.

I'd call it ironic except Schuller's doctrine was off. He had a sort of faith, health, and wealth doctrine (that God never promised for here on Earth), so a lot of people lost their faith (or found a more conservative church) when the depression hit and their assets dwindled, and the rest didn't have as much money to offer.

His ass should have been peaching in a field or barn. Then he wouldn't have a problem.

The foundation of that church was the "power of positive thinking."

A lot of "prosperity gospel" churches are hitting hard times. No surprise.

Shattered crystal topic

People who worship in crystal houses should not cast the first (or any) stone. :P

By that logic, all modern nations but Germany are currently saints, because Germany in the past was governmed by Holocaust-causing nazis.

mostly a waste of good real estate.

the crystal tower is pretty but that hideously enormous ancient execution device that is almost always visible beside it ruins any hope of beauty. i moved to a new apartment at the end of last month and, thankfully, am no longer subjected to a view of it from my balcony.

nothing like a monument to torturous execution/human sacrifice (take your pick) that you can see from f***ing miles away.
