Statistics on Religion and Charity

Here are some interesting statistics and articles for everyone.

(http://friendlyatheist.com/2010/01/02/d ... o-charity/)

(http://www.hoover.org/publications/poli ... ticle/6577)

A summary of the statistics:

Religious people are more likely to give money than their secular counterparts. They are also more likely to volunteer and give blood. Also, for those who want to state that religious people are more likely to give more money and time to secular causes.

Please not, I am not making the case that upon these statistics that you should immediately convert. I simply wanted to put forward something that was not universally negative in attitude towards religion on this forum. (Before you consider whether the posting of this information is warranted, please look at those topics being discussed on the forum right now).

Well, one of the reasons why some of us don't go to church is that we don't like being hit up for money.

So, yes, people who go to church would tend to be more liberal with their money.
