I remembered I read that quote, I suppose you're talking about the W.B. Michaels artticle in the November edition. It's a quote from Rosie O'Donnell (the always-tell-the-truth condom witch)

It can be found online http://mondediplo.com/2010/11/06teaparties
(LMD the most leftist thing you can have, you can disagree with what is said, but you can't say it is not brilliantly written)

The Tea Party is a living caricature of what is wrong in the US: education, or the lack of it. People are screaming about a freedom they don't understand, arm themselves to the teeth a government they have no clue about how it works and get funded and promoted by the people who are more interested by getting leverage and blurring the game rather than winning it.

@ SuperAspie

Yeah how is Greece right now, you still having the violent riots?

Hate to break it to liberals but the tea partiers aren't crazy they are very angry people whom are fed up with Government corruption, being talked down to, etc.

Nope just strikes, and to my knowledge, nobody here blames that the prime minister is a secret socialist muslim (or a secret muslim banker). No one has started a speech with "I'm not a witch..." here.

The Ron Paul Revolution was hijacked by the wackos, O'Donnell? Bachman? Sarah Palin? And many other with the support of Fox news? They are the self-proclaimed Tea Party leaders, and it seems that not many people try to deny that (I found some though) Are you really telling me that these people are not crazy and you find them completely able to govern something larger than a classroom?

These people gave countless examples of profound stupidity everywhere on the web, shall I really pick a random example to prove my point?

Uh-oh, watch out. Sharon Angle just launched a new political action committee called "The Patriot Caucus."

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2010/12/13/angle-eyes-tea-party-prospects-for-2012/

I think self destruction is likely.

Ah yes of course Sharon Angle...

Self destruction. But I really find the situation sad, these crazies are depleting what could have been energy for a real change. I think that David H. Koch, who is an extremely brilliant mind, knows this and fund the looser just to buy time for his own interest.
And also don't forget that Daddy Koch was a funding member of the John Birch Society, which leads straight to the Glenn Beck nonsense.

Hum I need a blackboard in order to connect the dots :D

You know, this is why the tea party thinks liberals are a bunch of elitists that are so full of themselves and think they know more than they really do. Quite frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if average tea partiers are more intelligent than the average liberal voter.

I'm not attacking you, I'm not attacking your ideas, you're basically right, I just say the packaging is really painful to watch and it raises big doubts. And I'm no liberal.

These people remind me of the fanatical
masses medieval who insulted heretics
when they were led to execution.

John Koch and the John Birch society are wackos, or not all there, this is true.

However, Glenn Beck shouldn't be thrown into the same category. He reached the conclusion he did based on research and actually started from the stance that the position he now has was completely idiotic. If you do background research into Beck's claims, the scary part is you can actually find the information to back up his claims (assuming you get to it before it is scrubbed from where he found it), I actually saw this happen a few times, and newsbusters.org covered it not Beck.

I think Beck is a little socially inept, but the scary part is a lot of what he has been talking about has been coming to pass.

You know I really wish Beck was off his rocker, it is more scary to me that it looks like (based on research I've done) he's actually sane and actually right on the money.

In the money, not on it. He mad $32 million in 2009 alone. From the article:

"I could give a flying crap about the political process," Beck tells the new issue of Forbes magazine (Forbes.com).

"We're an entertainment company."

QFT.

Fox produces a form of entertainment. Of course there are many people who do not find them the least bit amusing.

He's playing both sides and getting rich. It's such a classic strategy to polarize, then everyone is talking about you passionately, whether they passionately love you or passionately hate you.

Glenn Beck is no idiot and he knows exactly what he's doing, and you can be sure everything he says or does is an act.

Not sure if this was a mistake or a joke, but the woman to whom I believe you're referring is Christine O'Donnell. Rosie O'Donnell is an actress, and I don't think there's anyone who could be more of a polar opposite of Christine O'Donnell concerning political opinions.

Just a mistake :)
