Here's a question -
Where were you, and what were you doing when you learned that Bin Laden was dead?

I for one was watching 60 Minutes with my wife and daughter, planning to change the channel to The Simpsons on Fox, when the breaking news music momentarily struck up, followed by the crawl, which stated that the President was going to make a statement soon. Soon after, the crawl announced that Bin Laden was dead! Then CBS news took over the screen, and it was in fact announced by a human newscaster that the bastard was dead.
I have to admit, I was stunned. I had always thought that since Torabora, Bin Laden had slipped us for good, and was going to die an old man in bed - smirking that he had slipped us. Sometimes justice delayed isn't justice denied, if it eventually gets done.

I was having a smoke during my break at work and found out about it while checking facebook - someone had posted it up as a status update.

I was here, on my PC, posting in the PPR and waiting for Obama's official statement to begin on the White House page

I was coming back from my buddy's place and then I learned about it when I came home and turned the TV on.

I was here and learned it here. Can't say this sight never taught me anything at least.

I was watching 60 Minutes. I assumed Obama would follow his normal track record and be full of crap as usual so I turned of the TV and went on the internet and waited to find out the highlights there while I was on facebook.

At work; I got a text from my housemate. I wrote back, "Yeah! I hope he suffered."
I'm not proud of that, but I'm not ashamed either.

In my room, stuffing paper bags full of pieces of junk mail.

Thought my sister's friend was joking at first, but my sister
put the TV on, and there was the announcement on NBC.

I can't even remember, and I wasn't even drunk.
I can tell you where I was when I heard about Michael Jackson's death though.

In Stormwind, at the auction house, checking up on the goods that I was trying to sell there.

I have not the slightest memory [Kennedy I THINK I was in the Union Cafeteria]. But logically given my only sources of "news". I was probably in the living room running the computer or listening to my wife telling me off her computer.

In the vast play of history this is most assuredly not one of those moments where we will look back and remember where we were and what we were doing.

bin Laden was a symbol--and a potent one--but was largely reduced to irrelevancy, incapable of effectively leading any organization because of the isolation under which he was forced to operate.
