I wish I could believe.
I wish I could belong.
I wish I could feel "sure" about things and be supported by a group of fellow believers.

But in all honesty I can't.

Believe what? Belong to what? Sure about what?

establish your context, before wishing upon a star.

maybe wombat is saying that he wishes to be part of a group and there's no bigger group than church-going folk but he's unable to do so because he doesn't share their faith.

I still believe all things are possible, but I no longer believe I will eventually meet people willing and able to embrace what is actually available.

Music Festivals are good for the whole "oneness" thing, a sense of belonging, If you're looking for that. Alcohol is a necessity though.

I don't recommend trying to conform and selling your soul just for a sense of belonging, however. Denying who you are is never a good choice.

Maybe you should look at God a different way. I see God as the bigger picture. Its the creating forces that set up the laws of nature, and were manifestations branching out from it carrying out creation in out day to day lives through out choices. I only see human awareness as one form of consciousness and believe other forms of consciousness to be present in everything, including every atom. There's a link between consciousness and matter and your own awareness is proof of it.
